Glyncoch Community Regeneration Ltd is owned and run by a group of local people committed to seeing improvements in our area for the benefit of all. We will do this by working in partnership with other organisations such as Communities First to achieve our goals. Glyncoch is a caring, active and vibrant community that has successfully worked in partnership with local services and its proactive Cou

ncillors to continually improve the physical landscape and reduce crime. It is a disadvantaged community that does have problems and admittedly does need more community involvement and more support for individual aspirations and education. However, we do have two good schools and a lot of learning opportunities for adults that has created a culture of learning. Improvement is also focussed on children with lots of support and activities for local youths. The positives of Glyncoch include: a scenic and picturesque environment with Red Valley and beautiful views. We have lots of outside activities including Rugby teams and playing fields; the Taff Trail on our doorstep and a low crime rate. Glyncoch is well served by services including shops, chemist, post office and Drs Surgery and the villiage is supported by a good bus service. The location of Glyncoch is two miles from Cardiff; 20 minutes from the Brecon Beacons and links to Pontpridd. The difficulties include: the need for more varied job opportunities locally and more quality training and learning opportunities with access to jobs. Some environmental areas need to be improved and we need better lighting. We also feel that there is a need to improve the quality of some of the facilities.
