Today, we honour Survivors of residential schools, remember the children who never returned home, and reflect on the lasting impact of the residential school system.

Here in Nogojiwanong/Peterborough, we have a responsibility to keep learning and supporting Indigenous voices in our community.

Reconciliation doesn’t end on September 30. We can continue the work by learning about the history of residential schools, listening to Indigenous perspectives, supporting Indigenous-led organizations, and taking action throughout the year.

Happy Disability Pride Month!

At Thrive Housing & Support, we are celebrating the diversity, resilience, and unique experiences of the disability community.

Disability Pride is about shifting the narrative from pity to pride, embracing identity, and demanding an accessible world where everyone can thrive. This month is a time to honor history, but it’s also a call to action.

Here's a few ways you can join us in celebrating this July:
- Honor the past by learning about the incredible advocates who fought for the rights we have today.
- Own our narratives because your unique story is powerful.
- Validate every journey, remembering that celebrating can be loud, quiet, or anywhere in between.
- Show up by actively listening to, sharing, and supporting disabled voices, creators and advocates.
- Shift the culture away from stigma and toward a world where identity is embraced and celebrated, to build a more accessible world.

Happy National Accessibility Week! This year's theme is "Building a Strong and Accessible Canada". At Thrive Housing and Support, we believe that a truly strong country is built from the ground up, starting right in our own neighborhoods.

Every day, Thrive contributes to this national vision by providing accessible community housing, 24/7 on site PSW support and specialized care for adults with physical disabilities, acquired brain injuries, and high-risk seniors.

By empowering individuals to live self-directed lives in safe, accessible environments, we are doing our part to strengthen the fabric of our entire community. Because a stronger, more accessible Canada means a country where We Can All Thrive.

Building an accessible community requires all of us and starts with a conversation. We challenge you to start a conversation with a friend, a co-worker, a neighbor and ask yourselves:

"What does a truly accessible community look like to you, and how can we help build it here at home?"

Listen to their perspective, share your own, and let's keep building bridges together.

May 19th is PSW Day in Ontario, and today we honor and celebrate our incredible PSW's.. It is your dedication, kindness, and compassion that supports our clients to continue living independently in their homes.

Happy Victoria Day Long Weekend!

Our office will be closed on Monday, May 18th for the holiday. We will resume our regular hours on Tuesday, May 19th.

PSW services will operate as scheduled unless otherwise specified.
