SPOTLIGHT ON Sally's Cat Rescue ๐Ÿˆ ๐Ÿ˜ป
It's the start of a new week here in Cornwall and we are throwing ourselves back in with our fundraising.

We have currently provided Sally's Cat Rescue in Cornwall with ยฃ700 towards spaying and neutering this year. And we want to hit a target of ยฃ2000 by Christmas (alongside our other charitable donations).

Sallys Cat Rescue is a Registered Charity, committed to alleviating the suffering of not only cats, but also on occasion dogs and baby gulls.

Sally is seeing an influx in feline arrivals. Unspayed, unneutered or pregnant ๐Ÿคฐ.

Our Romanian overseas trip is nearing the end. We return home to Cornwall tomorrow.
But what a special and poignant week it has been. It will remain in our hearts forever โ™ฅ๏ธ.
We have just received an update:

194 animals (cats and dogs) have been sterilised over the 4 day campaign in Lipia, Romania.

Funding was received from:
Pups and Paws Prevention CIC (Ourselves) England ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ
Animal Souls e.V. - Hunderettung Rumรคnien Germany ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช (Our two organisations funded 122 animals)
Hobo Dogs, Finland ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ฎ for darting and neutering of stray dogs.

Mircea Stefanache and his exceptional veterinary team from Romania made this possible ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ด (See photos attached of the process of darting a stray dog in order to bring in to the clinic)

And with extraordinary logistical support and stamina from Mares Dana from Romania ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ด

A true working partnership between FOUR European countries. We may no longer be part of the European Union, but this campaign has proven that we are still very much friends and partners with our European neighbours, who care as much as we do about animal welfare.

Now to the future. There is much to do to continue our fight for animal welfare causes and charities in Cornwall.
We will be begin by returning to Mevagissey Craft Fair on Wednesday 10th June, where we are so excited to see all of our fellow traders.

Then on to WOOFSTOCK 2026! 12th to 14th June at Powderham ๐Ÿฐ Castle near Exeter.
We have the incredible Linda Lloyd sending down more plastic free craft stock this month. Alongside more of our signature Ditch The Plastic Soaps from Nicola Longmore.
We look forward to receiving more stock this coming week from Mousehole Wild Bird Hospital Cornwall .

We have our final craft session with Moorvue Rural Centre on 16th June.
We are collecting hedgehog plant holders and seagull mobiles from The Centre Newlyn on 17th June when we will also collect information from Plastic Free Penzance and Sustainable Penzance to display on our stall at Golowan Festival at the end of the month.

Sally's Cat Rescue will be our ongoing focus for financial aid for spaying and neutering. There is a huge crisis currently around animal abandonment and unwanted litters. which we must find ways to end.

We will continue to support the Falmouth based Pawsitive Pet Foodbank for those in crisis with grain free food as and when required.

Mousehole Wild Bird Hospital will continue to receive our financial support towards preventative equipment and management of aviaries and site.

OVAID Organgutan Charity based in Launceston, Cornwall will receive a special ยฃ500 grant prior to November for veterinary supplies.

Well that's a wrap.
Day 1 of a 4 day Spay/Neuter Campaign complete here in Lipia, Romania ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ด.
What an experience as ever.
- Stray dogs darted and recovered and brought in for sterilisation- the cycle broken for some of the females. One of whom was recovered with 5 puppies - all of whom we hope will be housed in a safe shelter.
- A number of cats also sterilised.
All made possible by Mircea Stefanache from Paumi-Vet and his colleagues with support from Mares Dana .

Tomorrow, Neil and I head North to hike in the mountains โ›ฐ๏ธ and visit a local bear sanctuary - the largest in the world.

Now, onwards to our continued work in the Cornish community where sadly animal abandonment has risen and we need to give every help we can on our local doorstep.
