Adventure Dolphin 🐬 A registered charity dedicated to bringing a wide range of exciting adventure sports to our entire community.

From thrilling activities to unforgettable experiences, our charity is here to make adventure accessible for all. Adventure Dolphin (Charity, No. 1156978) is one of Berkshire’s leading activity charities that is home to a variety of different water and land based sports. Our aim is to offer the local community – young people and adults alike, the opportunity to experience the great outdoors through a series of development courses and club membership run by a team of dedicated volunteers. Adventure Dolphin work with our partners at the West Berks Activity Team also based in the Dolphin Centre

✨ Light up the River Thames this Bonfire Night! 🎆🚣‍♂️

Looking for a magical way to celebrate the 5th of November?

Transform our canoes into glowing vessels and take to the river Thames after dark, beautifully decorated with lights and glow sticks.

After your night paddle, head ashore to warm up around the roaring fire pits with hot chocolate, toasted marshmallows, and sparklers! 🔥☕✨

📅 Event Details & Schedule (Thursday 5th November):

🕕 6:00 PM – Arrival, kit fitting & safety briefing

🚣‍♀️ 6:30 PM – Launch onto the river for our illuminated glow paddle

🍡 7:30 PM – Return to shore for fireside treats & sparkler fun!

🎟️ What’s Included:

🚣 1-Hour Guided Night Paddle

☕ Warming Hot Drink (waiting for you as soon as you step off the water!)

🍡 Fireside Treats: Toast marshmallows over the fire pits

🎇 Sparkler Fun: Celebrate around the fire to finish the night

👟 Good to Know:

Who can join? Suitable for adults and children! (Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. All children must safely fit into our smallest buoyancy aids).

What to wear: Wrap up warm in layers! Thermals, fleeces, gloves, and woolly hats are recommended (plus a change of clothes just in case).

I know lots of our community have been asking about 'duck'.

We will be incredibly sad to not have his little face wondering into the boat house and joining in our paddle sports sessions but we are so glad he is going to live happily ever after 🦆

An update on our Muscovy Duck, know to many as Morris or sometimes Brian. 🦆

He's been a part of our meadow for a while. Morris was found unwell at the end of August. Swan Support were quick to collect him and he spent six weeks with them getting healthy before returning to the meadow a week ago. Sadly Morris obtained some wounds, and after being back for only a couple of days he has again been collected by Swan Support.

Morris will not be returning to the meadow again but this isn't the end. He is getting the care he needs and is with a female Muscovy Duck who will hopefully be released onto private land with a pond to see out their days. 🦆🦆💦

We would like to say a huge thank you to Swan Support who have been amazing, not only with the many visits they have carried out to the meadow but also the care they have given to Morris.

What an absolute pleasure it was having a group of girls from Downe House School with us yesterday. 😇

The group joined us for their make a difference day.

The girls really got stuck in with tasks such as organising equipment, sweeping out the boat shed and they even made a difference by doing a river clean up!

A huge thank you to both Downe House and the group themselves for coming down to support us and really helping us make a difference. 🤗

No, you’re not hallucinating... that IS our Operations Manager dressed as an elf. ✨

Jade hasn't started Christmas three months early (we don't think), but she is busy applying for our festive event funding today and clearly, she’s taking the "festive spirit" part of the video application process extremely seriously.

The things we find ourselves doing to try and secure funding!

A great start to the day here at the centre! 🤗

We’re hosting some of the GCSE PE students from Blessed Hugh Faringdon as they complete the kayaking skills section of their PE coursework. The group has made brilliant progress this morning.

On this afternoons agenda: capsize drills and a friendly mini-race to put their new skills to the test. 🚣‍♂️

The centre is bustling with energy today!

Outdoor Academy are running their sessions here today, Milehouse School have enjoyed some paddle sports and Cranford house are scaling the climbing wall!

The summer may be nearing an end but that doesnt mean the adventures have to!
