At DB #9 Project Oban, we are deeply committed to supporting mental health and creating a safe, welcoming space for anyone who may be struggling.

Having experienced the heartbreak of losing people to mental health challenges, this is a cause that is incredibly close to us. It continues to drive everything we do as a community — to listen, to support, and to remind others that they are never alone.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚
If you are finding things difficult, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Whether you want to talk, share your story, or simply need someone to listen, we are here for you.

You can contact us directly through this page or via email, and we will always do our best to support or guide you to the right help.

For those who may need urgent support, we have included important contact numbers below. Please use them if you need immediate assistance.

Remember — you are never alone. There is always someone who cares, and there is always support available.

Some people don’t realise the impact they have just by being themselves… and that matters more than you think.

At DB #9 Project Oban, we see it every day — the quiet strength, the small smiles, the moments where someone shows up even when it’s hard. That is powerful. That is enough.

Mental health isn’t always about big breakthroughs. Sometimes it’s about getting through the day, reaching out, or simply existing when things feel heavy.

You might not see it, but your presence can lift a room, comfort someone, or inspire hope without you even knowing.

So if today feels tough, remember:
You are needed. You are valued. And you have more impact than you realise.

Let’s keep supporting each other 💛

Hello everyone,

I wanted to take a moment to share a little more about what this group is, and why it has been created.

Myself (Rachael), alongside Tom and Sean, have been working quietly behind the scenes to build something meaningful for our community — a support network focused on men’s mental health, with the intention of expanding to support women once the foundation is firmly in place.

The reason for this is deeply personal and, sadly, all too familiar within our town. We have lost far too many people to su***de, and the lack of accessible support services has been felt by so many. It became clear that something needed to change — and that change starts with people willing to step forward.

For me personally, I made a promise to myself that I wouldn’t stand by and be part of the problem — I would work towards being part of the solution. Together, that is exactly what we are striving to do.

We are currently in the process of securing a space for meetings, and there is a lot happening behind the scenes to build a strong, supportive, and accessible network. Our goal is not only to provide support, but to encourage greater community involvement — to remind people that they are valued, seen, and very much a part of something.

This is just the beginning, but it’s an important step.

Our inbox and email are always open. If you have any questions, need support, or simply want to reach out, please don’t hesitate.

Thank you for being here and supporting this journey.

🌿 WHAT CAN HELP BOOST LOW MOODS? 🌿

Sometimes the simplest things can make the biggest difference…

Spending time in nature — even just a short walk in a local park — can help reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and gently lift your mood. Fresh air, greenery, and a change of environment can work wonders for both your mind and body.

At DB #9 Project Oban, we believe in supporting your wellbeing in natural, achievable ways 💚

✨ WHAT CAN HELP BOOST LOW MOODS? ✨

Sometimes the simplest things can make the biggest difference… like stepping outside ☀️

Did you know that just 10–15 minutes of direct sunlight can help increase serotonin levels in the brain?
This natural boost can support feelings of calm, focus, and overall wellbeing 💛

Whether it’s your morning coffee in the garden, a short walk, or simply sitting by a window—take that moment for yourself today.

Small habits. Big impact.

Not every struggle is visible.

A lot of men are taught to just “get on with it” — push through, stay quiet, handle it alone. But low mood, stress, and feeling off balance don’t make you weak… they make you human.

Something as simple as getting active — even a 10–20 minute walk — can start to shift how you feel. It’s not about being perfect, it’s about taking one small step.

At DB #9 Project Oban, we’re here to support real people through real moments. No judgement. No pressure. Just a space to feel better, at your own pace.

If you’ve been feeling low lately, this is your sign to start small… and to know you don’t have to do it alone.

Message us if you want to talk 🤝

💙 Welcome to the DB #9 Project Oban 💙

We’re proud to share that we’ve been working behind the scenes to create a dedicated support club focused on men’s mental health within our community.

We are currently in the process of securing a venue where individuals can come together in a safe, supportive space to talk, connect, and be heard. This page will serve as a hub for updates, information, and a place where you can reach out at any time if you need support or have questions.

We’ll also be organising regular activities, including mental health walks and community events, designed to encourage connection, conversation, and wellbeing.

Our town has experienced significant challenges, and we are committed to being part of a positive change — creating a space where no one feels alone.

This project has been created in memory of someone incredibly special to us. Through this group, we hope to honour their legacy by supporting others and strengthening our community.

If you’d like to know more or get involved, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
