Windmill Community Gardens

Windmill Community Gardens We are a group of local people nurturing a wonderful community garden in the heart of the city.

The Gardens are a great place where anyone can come to find out more about growing their own food in a changing climate. We cater for all abilities and welcome any nationality or age group. We also welcome visits from groups outside of our session times - schools, interest groups and clubs, and can provide bespoke activities and education sessions, as well as running events and workshops.

Wow! Amazing bird-song breakfast this morning! 28 happy people of all ages tuning into the gorgeous sounds of the many different birds that live in and around Windmill Community Gardens, ably assisted by Nick and Trish from wild.NG who helped everyone recognise the many calls and gave us a fascinating insight into the lives of garden birds. Lucy, aka The Nottingham Forager also gave a great introduction to the wild food on offer in the area at the moment (plus important advice on choosing safely). Then Toni from Tiger Community Enterprise CIC provided us with a slap up breakfast, with Ria keeping everyone warm with a cheerful fire that handily meant we could make toast for everyone!
