Could everyone please sign and share the below petition to get behind the amazing animal sanctuary and rescue facility currently in planning for Trowel Nottinghamshire. We are 709 signatures off the 2,500 current target.
We'd love to get 10,000 signatures πŸ˜‚ so we need to share far and wide! Educational settings, group chats, friends, family, social media, at work, on the bus. We don't mind how you do it. We just appreciate your support.
A poster is also being created with QR codes on for anyone who'd like to display a poster also at work, at college, at school, in your shop, local library, in a medical centre etc. Anywhere where people can scan and sign up. Thank you

According to IUCN’s data, the IUCN Red List has over 41,000 species, of which around 16,000 are endangered and at risk of extinction. Around 41% of the endangered animals are amphibians, 27% mammals, 13% birds, 37% sharks and rays, and 21% reptiles. The vaquita is the most endangered animal in the world at present with just 10 of them left in the wild.

The onus lies on humans to save and conserve their population. Protecting their natural habitat is one of the main initiatives needed to be taken. Sanctuaries and conservation sites have significantly saved several animals from extinction by adopting proper conservation strategies and spreading awareness.

A popular question that is asked a lot is what is the aim and concept for the sanctuary? Hopefully the below will give some more clarity and insight into this.

The Trowell Animal Sanctuary Project is a groundbreaking endeavor aimed at promoting animal welfare, sustainability, and education.
A group of passionate animal lovers and environmentalists joined forces to create a sanctuary concept that would make a real difference in the world.
The mission and vision of the sanctuary is providing a safe haven for rescued animals, fostering education, and promoting eco-friendly practices.
Whilst creating jobs and boosting the Local economy:

The project will generate over 60 jobs in various sectors, including animal care, maintenance, education, and administration.
The sanctuary's presence will lead to increased economic activity in Trowell and Broxtowe, benefiting local businesses and entrepreneurs.
By attracting tourists to the area, the sanctuary will help diversify the local economy and create new opportunities for growth.

The Trowell Animal Sanctuary will focus on rescuing animals from the illegal pet trade, neglect, and other forms of mistreatment, giving them a second chance at life.
The sanctuary will offer a safe and natural environment for these animals to roam, recover, and thrive, with expert care and support.
By working with large conservation organizations, the sanctuary will extend its reach and impact, contributing to global efforts to protect and preserve animal species.

The current suggested site has been described by external professional experts as poor grassland and fairly uninhabitable for a lot of wildlife. The project aims to improve these conditions and create a thriving ecosystem.
The sanctuary will implement a tree-planting scheme, aiming to plant over 1,000 trees, which will help combat climate change and provide habitat for various species.
By creating habitats for native bats, birds, insects, and small mammals, the sanctuary will become a haven for all wildlife, supporting local biodiversity and enhancing the overall environment.

The Trowell Animal Sanctuary is committed to being a fully sustainable and environmentally responsible organization, leading the way as the first carbon neutral site in the UK.
Through innovative eco-friendly solutions and practices, such as renewable energy sources and waste reduction initiatives, the sanctuary will minimize its environmental footprint.
Being a carbon neutral site will not only benefit the planet but also set a positive example for other organizations and businesses to follow.

The on-site education center will offer a wide range of courses, classes, and talks, designed to engage learners of all ages in topics related to animal welfare, conservation, and sustainability.
Programs will cater to primary school children, university students, and lifelong learners, fostering a love for nature and a sense of responsibility towards the environment.
Collaborations with local schools and universities will help integrate the sanctuary's educational programs into the wider community, promoting a culture of learning and awareness.

The Trowell Animal Sanctuary will attract national and international attention, raising the profile of Trowell and Broxtowe as centers for animal welfare and sustainability.
The sanctuary's success will foster a sense of pride within the local community and improve its reputation as a forward-thinking, environmentally conscious region.
With continued growth and development, the sanctuary has the potential to become a major landmark, further enhancing the area's appeal to residents, tourists, and businesses alike.

The Trowell Animal Sanctuary Project if approved will overcome numerous challenges to achieve remarkable successes in animal welfare, education, and sustainability.
With a bright future ahead, the sanctuary will continue to grow and serve as a shining example of what can be achieved through passion, dedication, and collaboration.
