Conduct research and analysis: Conduct research and analysis to better understand the impacts of climate change and to identify the most effective solutions for addressing it. Influence corporate behavior: Encourage corporations to adopt sustainable practices and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions through advocacy, partnerships, and consumer pressure. Our Aim :

Conducting a Climate Vulnerability Assessment:

The first step of a climate action program for the humanitarian sector is to conduct a climate vulnerability assessment. This would involve identifying the most vulnerable communities and assessing their susceptibility to the impacts of climate change, such as floods, droughts, and heatwaves. Developing a Climate Adaptation Plan:

Based on the results of the vulnerability assessment, a climate adaptation plan should be developed. These measures could include:

Building climate-resilient infrastructure, such as flood barriers or drought-resistant crops
Providing early warning systems for extreme weather events
Developing emergency response plans for climate-related disasters
Offering training and capacity building to communities to increase their resilience to climate change impacts
Providing financial assistance to help communities adapt to climate change

Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions:

The humanitarian sector can also play a role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This could include measures such as:
Reducing the carbon footprint of humanitarian operations, such as by using renewable energy sources or reducing travel
Encouraging communities to adopt sustainable practices, such as energy efficiency and waste reduction
Advocating for policies that prioritize climate action and reduce greenhouse gas emissions

Strengthening Partnerships:

The success of a climate action program for the humanitarian sector depends on strong partnerships with other organizations, stakeholders, and communities. This could include partnering with local governments, community-based organizations, and other NGOs to implement climate adaptation measures and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Monitoring and Evaluation:

Finally, the effectiveness of the climate action program should be regularly monitored and evaluated. This would involve tracking progress towards adaptation and mitigation goals, measuring the effectiveness of specific measures implemented, and identifying areas for improvement. Overall, a climate action program for the humanitarian sector should focus on building resilience and reducing vulnerability to the impacts of climate change in vulnerable communities. It should be developed in partnership with the affected communities and stakeholders, and be regularly reviewed and updated as needed.

Through the generosity of our supporters, women in Niger are cultivating community gardens that are transforming lives and strengthening food security for vulnerable families.

These gardens are more than just a source of fresh and nutritious produceโ€”they are a pathway to self-reliance, economic empowerment, and climate resilience. In regions where communities face the growing challenges of climate change, sustainable agriculture provides families with the tools to adapt, thrive, and secure a better future.

As part of Muslim Hands Climate Action, community gardens help promote environmentally sustainable farming practices, improve local biodiversity, and reduce food insecurity while empowering women to become agents of positive change within their communities.

Every seed planted, every crop harvested, and every family nourished is a reflection of your sadaqah in action. Together, we are cultivating healthier communities, protecting livelihoods, and building resilience against climate-related challenges.

What was once considered extreme heat is now becoming an annual reality. Climate change is driving temperatures to unprecedented levels, affecting communities, ecosystems, food security, and public health across the globe.

According to NASA and the World Meteorological Organization, 2024 was the hottest year ever recorded, with global temperatures reaching approximately 1.5ยฐC above pre-industrial levels. The past decade has also been the warmest on record, highlighting a clear and accelerating warming trend.

Rising temperatures are fueling more frequent and intense heatwaves, droughts, floods, wildfires, and storms. Millions of people are already experiencing the impacts through water shortages, crop failures, displacement, and increasing health risks. Scientists warn that without urgent reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, record-breaking heat could become even more common in the years ahead.

Climate change is no longer a distant threat it is happening now. Every action matters, from reducing emissions and protecting forests to investing in renewable energy and building climate-resilient communities.

The choices we make today will determine the future we leave for generations to come.

The smiles on these young faces tell a powerful story of hope, responsibility, and action. Every sapling they carry represents more than just a treeโ€”it symbolizes cleaner air, healthier communities, richer biodiversity, and a brighter future for generations to come.

Trees play a vital role in combating climate change by absorbing carbon dioxide, reducing soil erosion, improving water retention, and providing shelter for countless species. Yet, according to the UN, the world continues to lose millions of hectares of forests each year, threatening ecosystems and livelihoods alike.

By involving children in environmental action, we are not only planting treesโ€”we are nurturing a generation that understands the importance of protecting our planet. These small hands are carrying big dreams, proving that meaningful change begins with simple actions rooted in care and commitment.

Together, every tree planted today becomes a promise for tomorrowโ€”a promise of resilience, sustainability, and hope.

Plant a tree. Protect the Earth. Empower the next generation.

The future of our planet lies in the hands of the next generation. At Muslim Hands School of Excellence, Sylhet, students came together to take a meaningful step towards environmental stewardship through a tree plantation activity, embracing the global message that we have Only One Earth.

Every sapling planted today represents hope for a greener tomorrow. Trees play a vital role in combating climate change by absorbing carbon dioxide, improving air quality, reducing temperatures, preventing soil erosion, and providing habitats for countless species. Yet every year, millions of hectares of forest are lost worldwide, accelerating climate challenges that affect communities everywhere.

By engaging young learners in environmental action, we are not only planting trees we are nurturing responsibility, awareness, and a lifelong commitment to protecting our planet. These students are learning that even small actions can create lasting impact when carried out collectively and consistently.

Through initiatives like this, Muslim Hands Climate Action continues to empower communities and educational institutions to become active participants in building a sustainable future. Together, we can restore green spaces, strengthen climate resilience, and inspire positive environmental change.

One tree can make a difference.
One generation can change the future.
Together, we can protect our only home.

Access to safe and clean drinking water is more than a basic necessity; it is the foundation of health, dignity, and sustainable development. Every drop of clean water helps protect families from waterborne diseases, improves well-being, and creates opportunities for communities to thrive.

On 10th March 2026, Muslim Hands Sri Lanka successfully installed a Reverse Osmosis (RO) water purification plant in Karatheevu, bringing reliable access to safe drinking water to nearly 540 families. This transformative initiative is helping ensure that hundreds of households can now access clean, purified water closer to home, reducing health risks and improving their quality of life.

The impact of this project extends far beyond immediate water access. By providing a sustainable source of clean water, the RO plant strengthens community resilience, supports healthier futures for children and families, and contributes to long-term social and economic development. Safe water means fewer illnesses, reduced financial burdens on vulnerable households, and more time for education, work, and community growth.

This initiative reflects Muslim Hands Sri Lankaโ€™s ongoing commitment to serving underserved communities through practical, sustainable, and life-changing solutions. Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), the project demonstrates how collective compassion and action can create lasting change where it is needed most.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our donors, partners, and supporters whose generosity made this project possible. Your support continues to transform lives, restore hope, and empower communities with one of lifeโ€™s most essential resources: clean water.

Together, we are building healthier communities and creating a future where no family is left behind.
