Founders Helen and Kat are two people who have combined their strengths, experience and passion to build something that has become a real part of Nottingham’s baby and toddler community. 💜
Helen brings her experience as a former primary school teacher and SEND specialist, alongside the passion and understanding that came from navigating early motherhood herself. Kat brings operational strength, structure and strategic clarity. Together, they have built Baby Sparks around a shared belief that parents don’t need fixing, babies don’t need rushing, and connection matters just as much as milestones.

Our Shining Star Award recognises an exceptional individual, team or business whose actions have created a lasting and measurable impact — and Helen and Kat are a brilliant example of this.

And the impact they have created is huge.
💛 Classes now run every day of the week, including weekends
💛 Across 7 local territories and 25+ venues
💛 Hundreds of families supported every week
💛 Expanded their offering with Tiny Sparks Baby Massage
💛 Launched Little Roots, supporting parents through those earliest and often most vulnerable weeks
💛 Continued to grow their franchise network across Nottinghamshire and beyond

But what makes Helen and Kat truly worthy of this award isn’t simply what they have built — it is what they do with it.
They continually use their time, knowledge and platform to give back to the community. From supporting Family Festivals, to contributing to roadshows and awareness events, supporting Children in Need and fundraising for a customer going through cancer treatment, they consistently show up for families.
They champion inclusion, collaboration and community over competition, supporting other local providers and creating spaces where families of all backgrounds and family structures feel welcomed and valued.

They have created a business that supports babies, empowers parents, develops practitioners and strengthens the wider community — while continuing to evolve and find new ways to support families.

🌟 RISING STAR 2026 AWARD WINNER – HELEN, Incredibabies 🌟
We are so excited to celebrate Helen from Incredibabies, our well-deserved Rising Star 2026 Award winner! 🏆
Helen’s journey is exactly what this award is all about. Incredibabies began from a brave idea, a love of teaching and a desire to create something different for Nottingham’s babies, toddlers and their families.
After 12 years as a primary school teacher, becoming a mum to Hettie gave Helen a new perspective. She had experienced first-hand just how valuable baby classes could be — not only for a child’s development, but for a new parent finding their feet, building friendships and creating their own little community.
Rather than simply joining an existing franchise, Helen took a leap of faith and created something completely her own.
📚 Incredibabies puts books and stories at the heart of every session, combining Helen’s teaching experience and knowledge of child development with sensory play, songs, signs and creative activities.

And in just over a year, she has achieved so much.
✨ Started her first classes in Arnold in June 2025
✨ Expanded into a second venue in Hucknall within six months
✨ Welcomed 150+ different families
✨ Built a loyal following, with families returning term after term
✨ Has 10+ original families from her very first classes still attending
✨ Created her own welcome song, sensory resources and products
✨ Supported local nurseries, schools and charitable initiatives
✨ Built positive relationships and collaborations with other local baby and toddler providers
✨ Continued to look for new ways to make her knowledge and resources accessible to families

But what really stood out to us was Helen herself.

She is creative, thoughtful, passionate and incredibly committed to the families she works with. She brings the warmth and encouragement of an amazing teacher, but with the courage of someone willing to step outside what she already knew and build something new.

Helen, we are so proud to have watched you find your place within the Nottingham baby and toddler community and to see what you have created in such a short time.

18th & 19th July 2026 marks the last ever Splendour Festival, and we’re incredibly proud that Little Splendours Kids Area gets to be part of this amazing chapter one final time.

And this year... we’re going out with a bang! 💥
