👻 Shadow Hunters UK Investigation Report
🎬 Cinema City Norwich — 4th Visit
Sunday 30th August
Shadow Hunters UK once again joined forces with Cinema City for our fourth paranormal investigation of this fascinating and atmospheric venue.
It was fantastic to welcome back so many familiar faces alongside several first-time investigators — and, of course, one very welcome latecomer! The mixture of returning guests and newcomers created a brilliant atmosphere throughout the evening, with everyone approaching the investigation with an open mind and a willingness to explore.

🕯️ The Investigation Begins — Marchesi Room
We began the evening in the Marchesi Room, where the team carried out our usual spiritual and technology briefing, explaining the equipment, investigation methods and the importance of remaining open-minded while also attempting to debunk anything we experienced.
Before we had even properly begun, however, we were given a rather intriguing welcome.
From the direction of the Colman Room, the familiar sound of the phantom bell could be heard ringing.
With our attention immediately drawn towards it, Group 1, led by Sam, headed into the Colman Room to investigate.

🔔 Group 1 — The Colman Room
The group began with a calling-out session, using a voice recorder to ask a series of questions.
It wasn’t long before something appeared to respond.
A voice captured on the recorder sounded remarkably like a quiet, ghostly “Hello.”
The group continued with their questions and Sophie asked:
“Where should we go next?”
The response appeared to be:
“Cellar.”
Naturally, the group took this as an invitation to investigate further!
The Swirly Whirly was particularly active during this session, while unexplained activity was also recorded on the K2 meter.
The team then called out specifically to Nancy — and once again, the equipment appeared to respond almost immediately, seemingly on cue.
Whether coincidence, environmental influence or something more unexplained, the timing certainly made for an intriguing start to the evening.

🃏 Group 2 — Bar & Restaurant
Meanwhile, Darren’s group headed into the bar and restaurant area, where they conducted an Infinity Deck session.
A huge thank you to Charlotte, who once again brought her own set along for the investigation. We enjoyed using it so much that we have now ordered one for Shadow Hunters UK ourselves!
Several names appeared to come through during questioning.
One communication appeared to suggest the name Ronald, who was described as being a small boy.
The group then began asking questions about the building itself, with the name Robert coming through.
Interestingly, the Swirly Whirly had remained relatively quiet until this point, before activity increased alongside a number of EMF spikes.
The Mel Rem also gave a small bleep before falling silent again.

🚪 The Wooden Panel Room
Darren’s group then moved into the wooden panel room.
Darren began asking questions, but the response was almost immediate.
The very first question was met with a blunt:
“STOP.”
Interestingly, the responses appeared inconsistent. While Darren rarely received a definitive answer to his questions, other members of the group seemed to receive clearer responses.
While inside the room, the group also heard noises apparently coming from the direction of the dining room.
The interesting part?
There was nobody there.

⚰️ The Cellar
The cellar proved to be one of the more interesting areas of the investigation.
At one point, a guest reported feeling as though they had been scratched on the back of the neck.
Despite this, the overall atmosphere of the cellar wasn’t necessarily threatening. In fact, much of the group found the energy surprisingly humorous, with several guests experiencing uncontrollable fits of the giggles!
There was, however, one notable exception.
A guest reported sensing a dark energy towards the rear of the cellar, an impression that was also shared by members of Sam’s group.
Sophie and Ben later headed into the cellar with Wayne, although on this occasion they did not report any significant activity.

👻 The Attic — Group 1
Sam and the remainder of Group 1 then made their way into the attic.
Almost immediately, the atmosphere began to change.
Hamish reported being touched, while two cat balls activated during the session.
Josh and Jordan both reported feeling their T-shirts being tugged, while Joe experienced a feeling of being extremely drained accompanied by a strong pressure headache.
Several members of the group independently confirmed Josh’s observation that the air immediately around him appeared to have become noticeably colder.
Robin and Jordan also reported sensing a dark presence towards the rear of the attic.
Rather than simply moving away from it, they decided to investigate the feeling and stood in the area.
While Josh was standing away from the rest of the group, he then reported hearing what sounded like a large exhale directly beside him.

🔦 Returning to the Cellar
Group 1 subsequently returned to the cellar.
Robin, who had never previously been in this area, found himself strangely drawn towards the far end.
At the same time, Karen reported hearing rustling noises coming from that direction.
Then came another intriguing moment.
Both Robin and Josh reported hearing what sounded like a child’s giggle.
Hamish was also touched again.
With several experiences occurring independently, the cellar certainly became one of the night’s more memorable locations.

🔮 Spirit Board — Restaurant
The group then moved back into the restaurant for a spirit board session.
Josh, Jordan and Karen asked numerous questions, but initially the board failed to provide any particularly definitive answers.
The atmosphere changed, however, when the second group — consisting of Sam, Sophie and Josh — joined the session.
The spirit that appeared to communicate through the board seemed noticeably stronger and considerably more mischievous.
As the questioning continued, the spirit appeared to describe itself using a series of rather colourful terms, including:
“Tit.”
“Gimp.”
“Jock.”
The responses prompted more than a few laughs from the group.
After several more questions and plenty of giggles, the planchette eventually moved to “GOODBYE”, bringing the session to an end.

🌬️ Darren’s Group — The Attic
Darren’s group later headed into the attic.
One guest reported feeling as though cold air had been blown directly across their face, despite the ambient temperature being above 25°C.
During their EVP session, the group also captured what appeared to be a whistle.
Another interesting piece of evidence to add to an already varied evening.

🎞️ Screen 1
The groups eventually made their way into Screen 1, where the investigation took on a very different atmosphere.
Initially, Group 1 scattered themselves around the theatre.
Several unexplained noises were heard, particularly from the corridor leading towards the projector room, despite nobody being present in that area.
One guest reported sensing what they believed to be the presence of a maintenance man standing towards the front-right corner of the screen.
The curtain was also seen moving despite there being no obvious breeze or airflow within the theatre.
There was some possible movement towards the right-hand side of the seating area, although the team could not completely rule out a temperature change or other environmental explanation.
Sam’s group then joined the investigation and settled at the back of the theatre.
Sam and Jordan sat towards the left, while Josh and Robin positioned themselves towards the right.
Almost immediately, several members of the group commented on the heavy atmosphere.
Robin and Josh both reported seeing what appeared to be a person sitting directly in front of Sam.
Despite looking towards the area, Sam and Josh were unable to capture anything corresponding to the reported figure on their equipment.

👁️ Looking Towards the Projection Room
Some members of the group moved down towards the stage end of the theatre and looked up towards the projection room.
Several people reported seeing movement around the left-hand window, where the changing or blocked light appeared to distort the ceiling around the large glass box.
Footsteps were heard at various points throughout the theatre.
Clicks were also captured during the EVP session.
Sophie additionally captured what appeared to be a long, mist-like shape in front of one of the chairs.
As always, we make no claim that this represents paranormal activity, but it is certainly an intriguing image for further review.
Robin and Jordan each took a turn using the Estes Method.
On this occasion, however, nothing sufficiently concrete was recorded to draw a conclusion.

🕯️ Final Thoughts
Our fourth visit to Cinema City certainly provided a fascinating mixture of experiences.
Some areas were considerably more active than others, with the Colman Room, cellar and attic producing some of the night’s most interesting personal experiences and equipment responses.
We had apparent responses through voice recording, EMF fluctuations, movement from investigation equipment, reported touches, unexplained noises, possible EVPs, temperature sensations and several intriguing personal experiences.
As always with paranormal investigation, we remain cautious about drawing definitive conclusions. Environmental factors, expectation, equipment limitations and human perception must all be considered when reviewing evidence.
But that doesn’t make the experiences any less fascinating.
And perhaps the most interesting aspect of the evening was the consistency of certain experiences being reported independently by different members of the group.
