Ever wondered what happens once you put your Tesco blue token in the pot on your way out after doing your food shop? We are so grateful to have had our Kings Lynn Specialist Short Breaks group supported by Tesco Stronger Start, and we wanted to share the massive positive impact the money we received had on our young people.
Thanks to this grant, we were able to arrange for a local ceramicist to come help the children make some wonderful ceramic pieces, crafting them from clay and then painting their creations. This was really enjoyed, and tapped into building the children's self-esteem, confidence and find motor skills, as well as practicing their listening skills, focus and attention. A seemingly simple activity can be incredibly beneficial to the children we support.
We were also thrilled to be able to book the incredible WonderDome, a fully immersive mobile planetarium offering a unique and wonderful sensory experience. The children got to experience being in space, crawling through forests and venturing into the depths of the sea.
Sadly, SEND children often do not have the same access as other children to extra extracurricular activities, but what we offer is carefully planned and well supported, hence the success of these extra sessions.
