🕯️ Today marks the final day of Baby Loss Awareness Week, a time for reflection, remembrance, and raising awareness of the impact of pregnancy and baby loss.
This evening, families across the world will take part in the Wave of Light, lighting a candle at 7pm to remember babies who have died too soon. As the candles shine around the globe, we are thinking of all the families in our community who are remembering their babies today.
Baby Loss Awareness Week holds particular significance for us through our Daisy Suite Appeal at Northampton General Hospital and Twinkling Stars Appeal at Kettering General Hospital. Through these appeals, we have had the privilege of meeting many incredible families who have chosen to honour their babies by fundraising, sharing their stories, and helping to raise awareness. Their strength, generosity and determination to support others is truly inspiring.
We are also proud to support the maternity bereavement teams and specialist midwives across University Hospitals of Northamptonshire, funding projects and items that help them provide compassionate care to families during the most difficult of times.
As this week comes to a close, we want to say thank you to everyone who has supported Baby Loss Awareness Week. Thank you to those who joined us for our first Baby Loss Awareness Memory Walk at Stanwick Lakes on Saturday, where it was so special to come together as a community to remember and reflect. And thank you to the KGH maternity bereavement team for hosting their Baby Loss Awareness Week bake sale.
To every family remembering a baby today and every day, please know that you are in our thoughts. 🩷🩵
