This week, we were delighted to welcome the wonderful team from HCR Law to the centre for their Better Together evening, bringing together clients, partners and friends of the firm.

Guests had the opportunity to learn more about Maggie’s and discover how we support anyone affected by cancer. It was a fun, relaxed and informative evening, with the centre brought to life by a fantastic performance from the talented quartet Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust - NMPAT.

The evening was a wonderful example of what successful partnerships with the business community in Northamptonshire and beyond can achieve. Life really is Better Together.

If your organisation would like to become a charity partner and support Maggie’s, and benefit from our cancer in the workplace support, we’d love to hear from you.

A huge thank you to Towcester Young Farmers, who raised an incredible £3,880 for our centre through their clay pigeon shoot last year!

Recently, Jenni, our Centre Fundraiser, was invited to their annual dog show to share more about the work we do and the difference their fundraising makes to the people we support.

What an amazing group of young people (and hounds! 🐾). Thank you to everyone at Towcester Young Farmers, and to all those who attended and supported the event, for helping to raise this fantastic donation for our centre.

Your support helps us continue providing vital care and support to those who need it most.🧡

This week is Carers Week, and here at Maggie’s we wanted to take the opportunity to celebrate the incredible carers who support people living with a cancer diagnosis.

We were delighted to host a special Afternoon Tea event in collaboration with the wonderful Helen Forskitt from Northamptonshire Carers. The afternoon provided an opportunity for carers to meet, connect, support one another, and access valuable resources designed to help them in their caring roles.

It was a truly lovely afternoon, with plenty of tea, cake, and scones enjoyed by all!

A huge thank you to every carer who gives their time, energy, and compassion to support someone affected by cancer. Your dedication makes an enormous difference, and we are incredibly grateful for all that you do.

If you are caring for someone with cancer, our monthly Carers Support Group offers a welcoming space to meet others in a similar situation, share experiences, and access support. The next sessions take place from 2.30pm–4pm on 18 June and 23 July. We'd love to welcome you.🧡

On Friday, we were delighted to welcome Emma, our new Art Therapist, for the very first Art Therapy session at the centre.

Open to anyone affected by cancer, these sessions provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space to explore emotions, relax, and express feelings when words can be hard to find.

Research shows that creative therapies can help reduce anxiety, depression, and pain, while improving overall wellbeing and quality of life. It was wonderful to see participants engaging with the session and enjoying the opportunity to connect through creativity.

Our Art Therapy sessions take place every Friday from 10am–12pm. Spaces are limited and booking is essential, as these sessions are proving very popular.

If you'd like to find out more about Art Therapy and whether it could be right for you, please get in touch.

A huge thank you to Emma for delivering such a fantastic first session – we're looking forward to many more!

📢

This week, we're celebrating the wonderful Lizzie, who has already raised more than £1,400 for our Maggie’s centre through her regular lunches with family and friends.

Throughout the year, Lizzie will continue hosting these special gatherings, inviting her guests to support Maggie’s by donating through her JustGiving page.

We absolutely love Lizzie’s idea. By bringing people together over delicious food and great company, she's not only raising vital funds but also helping to spread awareness of the support available at our centre. And from what we've heard, she's quite the cook too!

Thank you, Lizzie, for your generosity, creativity, and ongoing support. You’re making a real difference to people living with cancer and those who love them.

If you want to get involved in fundraising for Maggie's Northampton get in touch today - we would love to support you with your ideas!
