Candoscot

Candoscot Can Do is an exceptional charity (SC049885) offering fun, friendship and adventures for young people with disabilities living in East Lothian.

Running playschemes & youth clubs the charity aims to promote an ethos where our children Can Do ANYTHING! Can Do is an exceptional charity offering fun, friendship and adventures for young people with disabilities living in East Lothian. As a unique, long-running, parent-led Scottish success story, Can Do has been providing fantastic activity programmes for youngsters with additional support need

s since 1982. The charity officially changed it’s name from East Lothian Special Needs Playscheme (SC017097) to Can-Do (SC049885) on 13th February 2020, maintaining the same great local charity, operating under a modern new look. With an annual activity calendar which includes school holiday playschemes, term time weekly youth clubs, residential weekends and family fun days, there’s so much to do with Can Do, and so much fun to be had. Activities range from arts and crafts, hula-hooping and marshmallow-toasting to trampolining, swimming, encounters with animals and even kayaking. There’s no such phrase as can’t do at Can Do. Right from our very first playscheme in 1982, Can Do has been committed to setting the bar high when it comes to diverse, high quality activities for children with special needs, and we’re proud to have maintained those high standards ever since. However, there’s much more to Can Do than action and adventures. Ours is a truly parent-led charity, a place where disabilities don’t matter, but where special needs are met and expectations exceeded. We’re all about making good things happen, even if those things challenge the norm – we’ve got a real “can do” ethos.
