As part of the Isle of Wight Biosphere Festival, we're opening the gates to our Community Tree Nursery for a free, family-friendly open day celebrating local biodiversity, conservation, and community action.
Come and discover how locally sourced native trees are grown from seed and nurtured ready for planting across the Isle of Wight. Whether you're a keen gardener, nature enthusiast, or simply curious about what happens behind the scenes, we'd love to welcome you.
๐ฟ What to expect:
โข Learn about seed collection, propagation, and tree-growing techniques
โข Explore the nursery and see young saplings at different stages of growth
โข Find out how our trees help support hedgerows, woodlands, and wildlife habitats
โข Chat with volunteers and partners about ways to get involved
โข Enjoy informal demonstrations, conversations, and plenty of opportunities to ask questions
๐ณ A limited selection of native broadleaf trees and hedging mixes will also be available (subject to availability).
