🚗🌳 Every Car Parked Helps Plant Trees! 🌳🚗

Did you know that every car parked at the Isle of Wight Festival helps support nature on the Island?

Thanks to a fantastic partnership, a contribution from festival parking goes directly to Gift to Nature, helping fund tree planting projects across the Isle of Wight. 🌱
These new trees will help capture carbon, support local wildlife, improve biodiversity, and create greener spaces for future generations to enjoy. Together, we're helping the festival take positive steps towards becoming carbon neutral while leaving a lasting environmental legacy on the Island. 💚
So, if you've driven to the festival this year, you've already played a part in supporting nature and helping new trees take root. 🌳✨
Thank you to everyone attending and supporting a greener Isle of Wight! 🌿

Don’t forget to come and find us at the festival 📸

🌱 Step Behind the Scenes at the Gift to Nature Community Tree Nursery! 🌱

🗓️Friday 3rd July 2027, 10am-3pm🗓️

As part of the Isle of Wight Biosphere Festival, we're opening the gates to our Community Tree Nursery for a free, family-friendly open day celebrating local biodiversity, conservation, and community action.

Come and discover how locally sourced native trees are grown from seed and nurtured ready for planting across the Isle of Wight. Whether you're a keen gardener, nature enthusiast, or simply curious about what happens behind the scenes, we'd love to welcome you.

🌿 What to expect:
• Learn about seed collection, propagation, and tree-growing techniques
• Explore the nursery and see young saplings at different stages of growth
• Find out how our trees help support hedgerows, woodlands, and wildlife habitats
• Chat with volunteers and partners about ways to get involved
• Enjoy informal demonstrations, conversations, and plenty of opportunities to ask questions

🌳 A limited selection of native broadleaf trees and hedging mixes will also be available (subject to availability).

☕ This is a relaxed, drop-in event from 10am -3pm, come along between these times and stay as long as you like. Everyone is welcome!

📍 Getting here
🚫 No parking available on site
🚌 Approximately 10 minutes' walk from Asda Bus Stop (routes 2, 3, 39, 62, 63, 73)
🚶 13 minutes' walk from the Cineworld complex
🚴 Direct access from Connie's Way on the Newport–Sandown Cycle Track

🥾Please note: The nursery is an outdoor site with uneven ground. Conditions may be muddy or soft underfoot depending on the weather, so sturdy footwear is recommended.

🌱 Come and see how today's seeds become tomorrow's woodlands, hedgerows, and wildlife habitats. We look forward to seeing you there! 💚

🌼 Early signs of spring have sprung 🌼

It’s been lovely to see the early signs of spring as we work across our sites, after what has felt like the longest January for a while!
These wild daffodils and primrose are popping up to say hi in Pelham Woods in St Lawrence, a haven for spring-flowering plants, including a couple of rare species!

Well worth a visit if you need some spring cheer 🌱

Come along to Merstone Community Orchard Apple Wassail and help us sing for a good harvest this year!
