We invite members of the community to come and share a wholesome meal made by volunteers with food which would have otherwise gone to waste.

FoodCycle connects communities by bringing people together to share food and conversation. Week in, week out, thousands of volunteers across the country transform surplus food into healthy, delicious meals for anyone that needs them, no questions asked. Food poverty and loneliness are growing issues, both heightened by the recent pandemic. By offering a safe, welcoming space to enjoy a free meal a

nd company, FoodCycle brings people from all backgrounds and walks of life together, improving mental wellbeing and strengthening community spirit. FoodCycle also runs a free Check-in and Chat telephone service, where volunteers make weekly calls to anyone in need of a natter. Join us for a free weekly meal at the following locations, no pre-registration or questions asked:

Another lovely night at FoodCycle Newport yesterday evening. It was great to welcome in 15 guests for a wonderful free 3 course meal.

On the menu we had:
🍞Beans on toast with a boiled egg
🥦Garlic frittata bread, broccoli and tomato sauce
🟠Oreo crumb base, cream and orange

Last night at Ely Project LeaderLisa Powell and Diane along with our amazing volunteers served a 3 course meal( free) to 25 guests
A vibrant carrot and coriander soup with roasted pumpkin seeds and a seeded roll, plenty of vitamins and fibre,
Followed by a cheesy broccoli bake with roasted vine tomatoes
And a beautiful plum crumble and vanilla icecream

Last night at our Riverside project in Cardiff we served another fantastic free 3 course meal to our wonderful guests.

Starter: Patatas bravas🥔🍠
Main: Creamy pasta 🍝🍝
Dessert: Fresh fruits with rice pudding 🍇🍉🍮

Last night at Ely Dusty Forge, we welcomed 25 guests, 11 volunteers served a 3 course meal
Tempura carrot wedges with sour cream and chive dip,
Cream of mushroom soup served with Bread & Butter and crispy cheesy croutons( mini Yorkshire puddings)
A delicious Cheese, Potato and onion Pie with side salad and coleslaw
And a crunchy topped blueberry pudding and icecream
A brilliant delivery from Fare share Cymru
All welcome to join us next Monday

We were back open at FoodCycle Newport yesterday evening. It was great to welcome in 20 guests for a wonderful free 3 course meal.

Starter: Mushroom soup 🍜🍄
Main: Paprika Fritatta slice with salad 🫔🥬🥗
Dessert: Brownie, Satsuma and custard 🍫🍮

Last night at Ely we welcomed 33 guests, a wet night out but plenty of warmth and chat at Dusty Forge Ely,
We had a 3 course meal of
Minestrone soup
Mexican stew with stir fry Mexican rice and broccoli served with a flat bread and lots of nachos
Dessert was a fresh fruit salad served with icecream and a white chocolate swirl
What a lovely surprise a lovely couple made the Volunteers a beautiful lemon curd cheesecake which was very welcome after a busy evening
Thanks to all our volunteers and guests for joining us
