Wow, what another hot day today. Hope you’re all managing to stay cool!
This morning we continued work on our World Tour topic. It is great to see students confidence improving when researching things independently. We had a more chilled out afternoon as everyone was so hot and bothered and spent some time planning a party for one of our students who is leaving next week
This beautiful weather has really encouraged some of our donated roses to flower. It was such a nice surprise to see them in the garden today

This week we continued our World Tour topic. The students explored where the Isle of Wight is in the world. We used maps and a globe to help us locate Europe and the United Kingdom. An interesting discussion was had about the Island being so small it doesn’t always appear on all maps.
We had some visitors this week, Keertana and Lara who are both training to become Clinical Psychologists, they wanted to come along and find out what the group is all about. The students gave them a warm welcome and were happy to chat about the group and give some guided tours.
We did some gardening and craft in the afternoon as well as making our way through our very long song playlist requests made by the students.

Today we have started our new “World Tour” topic. We began by researching different flags from around the world.

At lunchtime we were treated to lunch out at The Bargeman’s, this was funded using money we made at our Christmas Fair. All the students were polite and well mannered and ordered their food independently or with minimal support. We had some lovely conversations over lunch and it was a great social experience, including money management and what is socially acceptable in a public place
