Newbury YoungStars is a long-standing, multi-award-winning youth theatre group.

As a charity, we empower young people aged 9-16 to build confidence, develop performing arts skills, and shine on stage through high-quality, live performances.

🎶👟 NEWBURY YOUNGSTARS ARE READY TO KICK OFF FOOTLOOSE! 👟🎶

Something exciting is happening... and our Newbury YoungStars are ready to kick off those Sunday shoes and get stuck into FOOTLOOSE! 🎤🕺💃

Over the coming months our talented cast will be learning the songs, picking up the moves, making new friends and helping bring this fantastic story to life on stage.

We know they're going to bring plenty of energy, enthusiasm and smiles to rehearsals, and we can't wait!

FOOTLOOSE: YOUTH EDITION

From the magic of Aladdin (2021) to the rock-and-roll energy of We Will Rock You (2026), our cast has grown, evolved, and tackled every challenge we’ve thrown at them. Now, it’s time for the ultimate test of stamina, spirit, and soul.

We’re leaving the iPlanet behind and heading straight to the town of Bomont. It’s a place where tradition is law, the Minister is watching, and dancing is strictly forbidden.

Get ready for iconic 80s hits, incredible choreography, and a story about standing up for what’s right. Our journey from Chicago to Bomont starts now, and we can’t wait to show you what this amazing cast can do.

2027 show - clue #6: The final clue! Rules? As we know from our time performing Matilda, sometimes you have to be a little bit naughty. In 2027, we are going to be breaking the rules once again.

These are definitely not the basketball boots from High School Musical (2022), the wellies from Singin’ in the Rain (2023), and they are certainly not the curled-up genie slippers from Aladdin (2021). We’re trading them all in for some Chicago high-tops and a pair of red cowboy boots.

2027 show - clue #4: Back to school! But we can promise you this isn't East High or Crunchem Hall. You’ll need more than the 'Status Quo' to survive these hallways! Thankfully, no Trunchbull or Chokey in sight.
