Brunch time!

Join us for coffee, cake, conversation and ceramics this Sunday, from 10am, at Thatcham Garden Centre ☕️ 🥐 🥓

This week we’re joined by volunteers from Healthwatch West Berkshire, who want to hear from the LGBTQ+ community about healthcare provision in our area. There’s no obligation to participate, but if you would like to engage with them and help with their survey, please do come along 🙂

We’re delighted to be working with Healthwatch West Berkshire as part of their Community Conversations programme 🗣️

They are particularly keen to understand the experiences, needs and aspirations of LGBTQ+ residents, ensuring our voices are represented in future healthcare planning and decision-making 🏳️‍🌈

They’re hosting two live workshops: one online on October 28, and another in-person at Newbury British Legion on November 5. There is also a survey to complete in your own time, if you prefer.

We also hope they will be able to join us for our Sunday Brunch at Thatcham Garden Centre on October 25 (11am-1pm) ☕️

🏳️‍⚧️ YOUNG PEOPLE — WE WANT TO HEAR YOUR VOICES! 🏳️‍⚧️

Are you a young person who wants to talk about trans rights, share your experiences, or help make a difference? 💙

The Messy Badge Club, Newbury Pride and MPR Productions are coming together to film a special community project for Trans Day of Remembrance (20th November), and we want to hear from young people who would like to take part!🏳️‍⚧️👍🏻

🎥 FILMING TOMORROW — SATURDAY 10TH OCTOBER
📍 Thatcham
⏰ 10am–2pm

We want to create a film that gives young people a voice, helps others understand trans lives, and reminds everyone why equality, inclusion and standing up for one another matter🏳️‍⚧️

💙You don’t have to be trans to take part! We welcome young people who want to share their thoughts, experiences and support for trans rights.

🔒 Your safety and privacy matter. Anyone under 18 will need parental permission to participate. If you don’t want to be recognised on camera, we can discuss ways to hide your identity.

🎬 WANT TO WATCH THE FINISHED FILM?

There will be a premiere of the full film in Newbury on 20th November, with a separate children and family screening planned for Thatcham, with the date to be confirmed.

A statement from the UK Pride Organisers Network on the incident at Berlin Pride.

Tonight, our thoughts are with everyone affected by the tragic incident at Berlin Pride.

Pride events exist because our communities deserve to gather safely, visibly and without fear. While the full circumstances are still being established, we stand in solidarity with Berlin's LGBTQ+ community, the organisers, volunteers, emergency services, and, above all, the victims and their loved ones.

Across Europe and beyond, Pride organisers remain united. We will continue to work together to protect our communities, defend our right to peaceful assembly, and ensure that hate and fear never silence our voices.
