📣 We’re recruiting: Social Circles Project Coordinator

Good company, enjoyable activities and a warm welcome can make a real difference to someone’s week. We’re looking for a caring, organised and proactive person to lead Social Circles, our dementia-friendly social group for older people in Monmouth.

You’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the group, planning activities, supporting volunteers, arranging transport and building relationships with guests and their families. We’re looking for someone with experience supporting older people, leading small teams and delivering group activities, who is confident working independently and using their initiative.

📍 Monmouth – currently based at Methodist Hall, returning to Drybridge House once restoration is complete.
🕒 15 hours per week: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9am–3pm, plus three flexible hours.
💷 £11,817 per year (£29,542.50 full-time equivalent).
📅 Fixed-term contract until 31 March 2028.

Your Christmas diary needs a night out! 🎄

Join us for the Bridges Christmas Party on Saturday 12ᵗʰ December 2026 at Monmouth Priory, from 6.30pm to 11pm.

Tickets are £25 per person, including a cold buffet. There’ll be a raffle and optional festive fancy dress, with a prize for the best costume.

Who’s coming with you?

In July 1997, Bridges had £2,000 in its building fund when a small group decided to pursue Drybridge House as a new home.

It was an ambitious decision. Years of hard work and local support followed before Bridges made its initial move into the house in January 2001.

That detail comes from Diana Roberts’ history of Drybridge House (photo excerpts from her book), and it says a great deal about the people behind Bridges.

💚 An update on Drybridge House | 13th October 2026

We know many of you are keen to hear how things are progressing towards reopening Drybridge House. We understand the concern that comes with a long wait and limited visible activity.

Over the past three weeks, further electrical and mechanical surveys have been carried out to help establish the work needed to bring the building back into use. These are important steps, although they don’t produce the visible changes we would all like to see.

Our intention remains to reopen Drybridge House as a home for our community. The recovery involves several organisations, and there are still details to resolve before we can confidently confirm a reopening date. We want the information we share with you to be accurate and realistic.

Meanwhile, Bridges continues to support people across Monmouthshire through our wellbeing services, community projects and volunteers. The temporary closure of the building hasn’t stopped that work.

We will keep sharing updates here, including when there is little visible change. Thank you for your patience, your support and everything you continue to do for Bridges. 💚

You do not need endless spare time to make a difference.
