Sad news that John Pearman (OM 50-56) has recently died.

It’s with great sadness, we share the news of the sudden passing of John Pearman.

John was the very definition of a club man. For more than 60 years, he devoted himself to Porthcawl RFC, serving in countless roles with unwavering commitment, pride and passion. This season John held the role of Deputy President, but his contribution to the club stretched far beyond any title.

Over his six decades of service, John was a player, captain, committee member, referee, and club officer carrying out every major administrative role. Always putting the club first, his dedication helped shape Porthcawl RFC into the community club it is today.

John was a true champion of community rugby. He believed deeply in the values of the game and the importance of nurturing future generations. Whether supporting our youngest age grade teams, encouraging players and volunteers or selling programmes on match days. John was a familiar and cherished presence whose enthusiasm never wavered.

His legacy is not only in the positions he held, but in the countless people he welcomed, supported, mentored and inspired over the years. The respect and affection in which he was held throughout the rugby community is a testament to the remarkable man he was.

Everyone at Porthcawl RFC extends their heartfelt condolences to John's family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be greatly missed, fondly remembered and forever a part of the fabric of our club.

Rest in peace, John. Your dedication, friendship and love for rugby will never be forgotten.

A superb all-round performance saw OMs record an impressive 131-run victory away at Eton Ramblers in the third round of the

After being asked to bat first, Harry Friend produced a magnificent 114, well supported by Andrew Leering (32) and Oliver James (32 off just 20) as OMs posted 247-7 from 50 overs.

With the ball, Arthur Newington-Bridges starred with an outstanding 5 wickets, while Tom Vickers claimed 3 as Eton Ramblers were dismissed for 116, sealing a comprehensive victory.

A huge thank you to Eton Ramblers for their excellent hospitality throughout the day. They were fantastic hosts and the match was played in a competitive but thoroughly sporting spirit. .alumni
