An active community group supporting the community in Monmouth and further afield. Rotary International is a global network of service volunteers.

It is the world's largest service organisation for business and professional people, with some 1,210,905 members operating in 168 countries world-wide. There are some 55,000 Rotarians in Great Britain and Ireland in 1,800 clubs, helping those in need and working towards world understanding and peace. Its a fulfilling role, and Rotarians can get involved as much or as little as their time will allow. But there is much more. Clubs meet on a regular basis, which allows members to build firm friendships. Every Rotarian has a right to attend any Club meeting anywhere in the world, so there is always somewhere to go, and people to meet, wherever business or leisure travel may take you.

Rotary Monmouth pleased to support this fantastic initiative as an "International partner" Together we can make a difference.

💙 🫶 Rotary Clubs and Hospitals Charity fund new cancer psychotherapist 🫶💙

Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity and District 1100 Rotary Clubs have come together to fund a new Cancer Psychotherapist to support people affected by cancer and their loved ones. The role will provide dedicated one-to-one emotional and psychological support throughout diagnosis, treatment and recovery.

Rotary Monmouth thank the many who donated to our appeal in Saturday towards helping the people suffering from the flash floods in the Rasuwa District of Nepal. The magnificent sum of £1850 was raised. This will be donated to charities active in the area for immediate and long term restoration. Shelter box, a charity that was founded by Rotarians for immediate relief after disasters, has a team in Kathmandu assessing the how they can best support people affected by the floods so that the right aid can be delivered as effectively as possible. As we know from the experience in Monmouth last year recovery from floods takes time and buildings and infrastructure need to be replaced. Rotary Monmouth may donate some of the funds raised towards this longer term restoration in partnership with Rotary clubs in Nepal.

As the Raft Race was not held the draw for the Rotary Marches Community Draw was held this afternoon at the Royal Oak on Hereford Road Monmouth.

The Raft Race Can’t Run - But We Can Still Raise Funds

Our Raft Race event, planned for 6th September, has been cancelled due to low water levels, leaving St David’s Hospice Care facing a loss of vital fundraising income.

Please help us keep hospice care afloat by donating what you can by using the Just Giving Page below:

Although cancelling the event was the only safe and responsible decision, it means St David’s Hospice Care will miss out on vital funds that we had hoped to raise through the event.

Every year, our Raft Race brings together teams, families, volunteers and supporters for a brilliant day on the river—all while raising money to help St David’s Hospice Care provide free, specialist care and support to patients and their families across our local communities.

The rafts may not be taking to the water this Sunday, but together we can still make a difference to Hospice Care.

If you were planning to take part, attend the event or simply cheer from the riverbank, please consider donating what you can. Whether it’s £5, £10 or the cost of the refreshments you might have enjoyed on the day, every donation will help us recover some of the income lost through the cancellation.

Your support will help ensure that local patients and their families can continue receiving compassionate hospice care when they need it most.
