We have been providing pre school care for children aged from 2yrs to school age in this setting for 25 years.

We have lots of exciting extra curricular activities planned this half term. Last Friday we had Zoolab present some bugs and creepy crawlers for the children to touch and hold. 🕷🐌 Our children were very brave and well behaved as they waited their turn.

Yesterday we had the lovely Annette from Toddler Time present a movement and music activity which the children enthusiastically joined in with.

On July 3rd Raa Raa theatre company will be visiting us to present a bear themed play followed by a teddy bears picnic and 're-enactment of going on a bear hunt on the back field. 🐻

On Thursday 8th July we have a pirate fun day where children can dress up and join us in finding treasure and join in with fun themed activities. 🏝⛵

On Friday the 17th July we will have a fun morning with games, stalls and, facepainting followed by sports day events and leavers graduation 🎓.

This week at Small Wonders we have been on Safari 🐒🐯🦁

We have explored different textures in our messy trays, had fun with Safari themed yoga, made elephant masks at the art table and even had a visit from Zoo-Lab where we got to see some different exotic animals like a free frog, a cockroach and a tarantula 🐍🐜 the children loved being able to see these animals up close and hold or stoke them. A wonderful week had by all with some fantastic learning opportunities 😀

Welcome back to preschool. We started this half term with a getting ready for holidays theme, with lots of fun activities. The children enjoyed weaving, sorting, art and sensory messy play, write dance, cutting and sticking and number recognition play. We look forward to more summer fun themed activities coming up as we set off on safari next week.

We finish next week with a Zoolab visit where all the children are invited to see and hold lots of bugs and reptiles. You can find more information about this on our parent app or posters at preschool. Have a lovely weekend 😘

We had lots of fun this week with cooking ginger bread men, art, messy play, dancing and lots of outside play. Our focus book of the week was The Gingerbread Man, the children enjoyed joining in with the repeated phrases and we had lots of chasing games in the garden. Our book this week was Matisse's Magical Trail, a lovely book about a snail leaving a trail of art on his journeys. We observed our snails and talked about how they have a spiral shell and the food they like to eat. We recreated snail art in our sensory messy play and in our art areas. All our butterflies emerged from their cocoons and we watched them fly away. 😍

Our book this week was The Wide Mouth Frog, we learnt about the life cycle of a frog and joined in lots of themed messy play, art, singing and weighed frogs and tested how far they could jump. One of our butterflies emerged from its cocoon. So much fun learning. Have a lovely weekend and bank holiday 😘

Our theme this week has been the life cycle of a frog. Our focus book has been the Wide Mouth Frog. We have had lots of fun with messy play, art, singing, weighing and comparing size and how far our frogs can jump. So much learning through play. Have lovely weekend and bank holiday. Another fantastic week at preschool. Our focus book is The Very Hungry Caterpillar and we have live caterpillars which we are watching grow, we are excited to see what happens next. We have been making lots of crafts and playing with messy sensory materials. We enjoyed an afternoon at the park making the most of the sun. Have a lovely weekend 😘

Welcome back to preschool. Our theme this half term is story books and rhymes. We have chosen some of the children's favourite books as a focus. Our book this week has been Whatever Next, a great story about a bear who goes to the moon. We have had lots of space themed activities, the children enjoyed making a large rocket, delving into messy play and enjoying reenacting the story with props and prompt cards. I hope you enjoy the lovely photos and have a great weekend. 😘
