Damboree

Thanks to all who bought Gold sets (now in the vault until a later date) we've managed to sponsor 2 latrines in Nepal.

I chose Nepal from the list of countries, because of my home down in Aldershot, which has ties to the Ghurkha's.

Damboree.camp renewal snuck up on me, so I am selling some limited release sets of Gold Badges @£20 (inc UK Postage overseas postage get in touch) to pay the bill. Any excess will be donated to Toilet Twinning (and I'll post here what that is).

If you're interested in a set, get in touch with Stuart Adora Ball, me, and I'll sort out some payment methods.

Only 250 of each year were ever made, and over 100 each year were issued out. So they are quite rare badges.

I've been prevaricating getting the last orders out, because it would likely be my last acts as a member of the Scout Association, and that's been a difficult inflection point to negotiate.

So I apologise to those who have been waiting for me to get my shizzle together and send the last of the orders out.

I have a few loose ends to resolve, one final gold badge, and collapsing the website down and social media stuff, and a final disposal of the pocket change in the bank.

Thanks for all your support, moral and otherwise, it's been a ride.

We came. We camped, We went home.

Kind Regards,

Stuart

With the final payment this morning the beneficiaries of the Damboree Grant Pot has been deposited in the bank accounts.

The last remaining activity is this years Gold Badges to be sent, which Stuart is hoping to do this week, as real life has been interfering with his Scouting.

To there is an extension to those eligible to apply until Weds 6th December when the Golds form will be taken offline.

Once Golds have been done, we're done and it's just a matter of sorting out and tidying up our digital footprint and leaving the legacy that was Damboree.

Damboree Gold Badges are a limited run, issued on an “honour” system to ensure that those who have them very much deserve them, which is why we have expanded the criteria slightly this year in support of our Squirrels colleagues. Damboree believes that NAA’s should be involved in an event that...

After slightly longer than planned deliberations, we have today sent emails to those who were successful in applying for Damboree Grants. We are donating £2,000 in 6 pots, 2x£500, and 4x£250 lots.

It was a difficult choice amongst the over 50 applications we had, and we hope the funds fulfill the promises we were made.

Outstanding gold badges will go out next week, so if you are eligible get your request in quickly.

There will be an opportunity to acquire a limited complete sets of Golds from 2018 onwards, once we have finalised the 2023 issue. This will be for charity, not sure how that's going to work, possibly Ebay, possibly based on donation receipts. We need to make a decision on that, possibly over b**r this evening.

This should all be completed ready and done by the end of November.

We'd like to thank you all for your support since 2017 when we started this all off, and wish you all a happy future camping.

Application form now online to apply for a limited number of grants from the Damboree Finale Grant Programme.

As we wind up Damboree, we have a bit of cash that we would like to share with some organisations. It’s not masses ~£2000-£2500 so it won’t change the world, but if you can let us know how you would spend £200-500 with in mind, then we may help fund that.If you would like to ...

A little something snuck into our online store today:
https://damboree.camp/product/limited-release-set-1/

Only 15 of these sets are available, proceeds of the sale of these sets will go into the kitty for the Damboree finale grants later this year.

Other releases will be made available, but only this release contains all the participation and extended badges.

1 set per person please, duplicate orders will be cancelled and refunded.

As far as I can see we only have 95 of the 2023 participation blues left in general stock.

This Limited Release Set 1, is a limited release of Damboree Badges. This set is limited to 15 sets, only one set per person.

Current Front Man Stuart here, need to update you on a few things as we wind down Damboree.

Last Orders:
Please make sure you get your orders for Damboree Finale Badges in as quickly as possible to ensure you are able to get some, there are around 600 left or so.

https://damboree.camp/shop/

We're going to be doing a set of firesale collections including some Damboree badges, like our ASU nametapes (only 100 produced) that have not been for general sale before now.

If you're going for Gold badge this year, make sure you have your application into our validation system as soon as possible:

https://damboree.camp/2023-gold-application-form/

As we'll be doing some very special badge sets for charity in September, and want to make sure that those who qualify for Gold are able to get theirs.

We've also taken the decision to cancel our event at the end of September, refunds for those who booked have already been processed, and emails sent.

The question them becomes what to do with the small amounts of cash we've tried not to build up this year.

We have decided that we will have a few pots of cash to give out by way of grants to support a, sadly limited, number of applicants.

More details about that soon, once I've sorted out the details.

As much as it goes without saying, Damboree has been a phenomenal thing, and impacted the lives of significant numbers of young people through encouraging barriers to be broken to allow young people to camp.

Myself and everyone behind the scenes who has made it work over the years are hugely grateful for your engagement.
