A great afternoon of discovering music careers and possibilities at yesterday's Music Careers Panel at ✨🎤🎵

Thank you to our fantastic host and panellists , .wilsonevents, , local providers, and all of the students and staff who joined us.

A couple of takeaways from our panel discussion included the emphasis on stepping outside of your comfort zone, pushing your boundaries, and not waiting until you feel ready to take the opportunity – because you may never feel ready.

Jack is our next musician performing at our Young Musicians Showcase at Classical Cafe this Sunday 4th Oct! 🎹🎵

Jack has a deep love of classical music and a particular passion for the piano, which he began learning at the age of four.

At the 2025 Saltburn Music Festival, Jack won the Advanced Young Musician violin category, Grade 6 Piano category and the Judges’ Choice Award. Alongside the violin and piano, Jack is also learning the erhu, a traditional Chinese string instrument.

“Music is a great way to relax and unwind after a hard day at school. I'm lucky that, as a multi-instrumentalist, I have such a wide and varied repertoire open to me!”

Concert runs 3-4pm at Middlesbrough Town Hall.
Tickets £8, free for under 16s (link in comments).

Introducing Thomas, who will be playing cello at our Classical Café: Young Musicians Showcase this Sunday 4th Oct! 🎻✨

Thomas has been learning the cello for nearly 5 years, and is part of the Yarm School Orchestra, Tees Valley Youth Orchestra and National Children's Orchestras of Great Britain.

Thomas said:
“I enjoy the variety of pieces that there are to listen to and to play, of all genres. I especially enjoy playing fast dynamic cello pieces which are exciting in character. I have recently enjoyed learning the Saint-Saëns first cello concerto which has exciting runs of notes and conveys a lot of emotion.”

The concert runs 3-4pm, at Middlesbrough Town Hall.
Tickets £8, free for under 16s (link in comments).
