Hi everyone! Boro Angels will have a team out this evening as usual. People often ask what we do and why.
We set up in 2010, as a safe presence on the streets of Middlesbrough during the nighttime economy. That covers anyone and everyone. And have now been patrolling for over 15 years. We help reduce the pressure on the emergency services.
OUR TEAMS ARE MADE UP OF BOTH MALE AND FEMALE VOLUNTEERS. And we support everyone
Whether you need first aid, welfare support or have had too much to drink. You’ve been separated from your friends, need flip flops if you can’t stay in your high heels 👠! Bottle’s of water and sick bags 🫣
We also offer hot drinks and snacks to rough sleepers. Along with hats, gloves, foil blankets, or hand warmers. But if you need your phone charging, we can help, if you need period products, are backpacks are stocked up. We carry bottle stoppers and glass toppers, to prevent spiking, plus spiking tests strips.

Our team had a busy night last night, but that doesn’t faze them. Several first aid incidents to deal with, including a gentleman who needed a nasty wound dressing. The girls certainly made use of our flip flops and their feet were grateful 😊. Plenty of homeless people given hot drinks, snacks, foil blankets , hand warmers and gloves. Bottles of water and sick bags for those who’d drank a little too much. Umpteen lollies given out. And amazing conversations .
We love what we do and will keep doing what we do best to help in the nighttime economy xx

Our thoughts are with the 2 police officers who lost their lives in yesterday’s tragic incident. Also their family, friends and colleagues.

Boro Angels work closely with the emergency services and we extend our condolences to everyone at Cleveland Police, NEAS, especially those impacted attending at the scene.

This shouldn’t have happened 😢💙
Holding everyone in our prayers ###

ASK FOR ANGELA
A valuable resource on a night out x

Did you know about Ask for Angela help cards?

Designed to resemble credit cards, these discreet cards allow you to ask for support without needing to say a word. They offer a simple, subtle way to communicate that assistance is needed, making them ideal for situations where speaking out loud may feel difficult or uncomfortable.

Using a help card is straightforward. You simply slip it across the counter or hands it to a member of staff, discreetly signalling that you require help. The card provides a clear visual cue, enabling staff to recognise that support is needed without you having to explain your situation publicly.
