Melton Mowbray Ramblers Melton Ramblers is a friendly walking group exploring the countryside year-round. Fresh air, great company, and new walkers always welcome!

We enjoy relaxed walks with coffee stops, picnic breaks, and the occasional pub lunch or drink.

Fancy getting some fresh air, enjoying the countryside and having a good natter along the way? Come and join us! Everyone is welcome, whether you’re a regular walker or joining us for the first time.

Wednesday 28th October – Tilton on the Hill
A short Wednesday morning amble of 5 miles, starting at 10.00am. Meet on Marefield Lane, opposite The Rose and Crown (LE7 9LF).

We’ll have a stop for coffee and a snack along the way.

Saturday 31st October – Clipsham
Join us for a 9-mile walk starting at 9.30am. Please park on New Road, near the junction (approximate postcode LE15 7SS).

We’ll stop for a picnic and coffee, with the option of a drink at the end.

📸 Some photos from our walks this week! 🥾

The weather certainly kept us guessing! Wednesday started off sunny, but we had a few spells of rain along the way. Thankfully, that didn’t put anyone off, and we had a great turnout and plenty of good company.

Today, three of us headed out for a short walk after our post-AGM meeting today, with more rain to keep us company! 🌧️

Whatever the weather, we always enjoy getting out for a walk, having a chat and spending time together.

🥾 Our walks this week – everyone is welcome!

Wednesday 21st October – Frisby on the Wreake
Join Ruth for a short Wednesday morning amble of 4.5 miles. Meet at 10.00am at the Buttercross, opposite The Bell Inn, 2 Main Street, Frisby on the Wreake (LE14 2NJ).

There will be a coffee/picnic lunch stop, with the option of enjoying a drink in the pub at the end.

Saturday 24th October – Burton Lazars
Our Annual General Meeting will take place at Burton Lazars Village Hall at 10.00am, followed by a walk led by Michael.

The route and distance will be agreed on the day, with a choice of approximately 5–10 miles.

Whether you're a regular walker or new to the group, you're very welcome to join us. Come along, enjoy the countryside and make new walking friends!

🍂 Fancy some fresh air, good company and beautiful countryside? Join us for two lovely walks this week! 🥾

Whether you fancy a gentle midweek amble or a more challenging Saturday adventure through parks and woodlands, there’s something for everyone. And of course, there’s the added bonus of refreshments afterwards! ☕😊

Wednesday 14th October – Rearsby
A short Wednesday morning amble of 5 miles, starting at 10.00am. Please meet outside the Packhorse Bridge, Church Lane, Rearsby (nearest postcode LE7 4YB). Please park sensibly in the village.
We’ll finish at Beardsley Tearoom for refreshments afterwards.

Saturday 17th October – Woodhouse Eaves
A 10-mile walk starting at 9.30am. Please meet at the free car park off Main Street (LE12 8RZ).
This is a slightly more strenuous walk exploring the surrounding parks and woodlands.
Please bring a picnic lunch, and for those who wish to, we’ll round off the walk with refreshments at Ye Old Bulls Head.

Both walks led by Sandra.

Wednesday 7th October
A gentle Wednesday morning amble of around 5 miles, starting at 10.00am.
Meet at March House Farm Shop and Café (LE14 2HA).
There will be a coffee stop along the way, with the option of refreshments at the café afterwards.
Please park in the overflow car park at the bottom of the main car park, on the left.

Saturday 10th October
Croxton Kerrial

Meet at 9.30am in the lay-by on the A607 on the edge of Croxton Kerrial, nearest postcode NG32 1QR.

This is an approximately 13-mile walk, taking in Harston, Woolsthorpe, the Belvoir Estate, Stathern and surrounding woods, Eaton and Branston, before returning to the cars.

There will be a coffee break and picnic lunch, so please bring what you need. For those who fancy it, there may also be a chance for a drink at The Wheel in Branston at the end of the walk.

What a fantastic day out in Derbyshire on Saturday, as Leicester and Melton Ramblers joined together for a lovely walk! 🥾

With beautiful scenery, glorious weather and fantastic company, it was one of those walks that had everything.

A big thank you to Norman for leading such a lovely walk, and to everyone who came along and helped make it such an enjoyable day.

Great walk, great weather and great company — what more could you ask for! 😊🥾

Wednesday 30 September – Midweek Amble

Join us for a lovely 4.5–5 mile Wednesday morning wander from Buckminster.

Start time is 10.00am. Parking is around The Green (NG33 5RT).

There will be a relaxed coffee/snack stop along the way, with a possible drink at the end.

Saturday 3 October – Cromford Mill

A cracking day out in beautiful Cromford for those who fancy a challenge.

Meet on Mill Road, Cromford (Grid Ref SK299570).
The nearest postcode point is just north‑north‑east of DE4 3RQ near the museum.

Free on‑street parking is available, with additional paid public car parks nearby.

Start time is 9.30am. The walk is approximately 12 miles with a picnic lunch.

This is a joint walk with Leicester Group and is grades strenuous.
