Operated by the Friends of Stapleford Miniature Railway FSMR, we have been restoring and maintaining the railway since the early 90s after it was mothballed following the sale of the stately home in the 80s. The House is now a luxury hotel; and golf course but the railway and estate is privately owned by the Gretton family and not connected to the hotel. Our aim is to keep the railway in the pris

tine condition it was known all over the world since it was first constructed in 1958. We have a fleet of 6 steam locos (3 in service June 2014) and are continually adding to the nearly 2 miles of running line and rolling stock. We are all volunteers and operate the line for the public twice per year since 1995 raising money for LOROS
