💛 This week is National Hygiene Week 💛

The Hygiene Bank Market Harborough is raising awareness of hygiene poverty and encouraging people to get involved, donate where they can and help spread the word.

Harborough Hygiene Bank supports local people who are struggling to afford everyday essentials such as shampoo, shower gel, toothpaste, deodorant and other basic hygiene products.

As a charity working with people in our local community, we know how important access to these everyday essentials can be. No one should have to choose between buying food, paying a bill or being able to look after themselves.

HCYC's Charity Manager Olivia collected a generous donation of hygiene essentials last week, kindly put together by the team at Currys as part of a recent team-building day.

These items will go directly to supporting the young carers we work with and will make a real difference to them. Thank you to everyone involved!

VASL do an incredible job of providing transport for young people to attend our Young Carers Group. Without these volunteer drivers, some young people would miss out on the chance to attend the group, which gives them a much needed break and an opportunity to spend valuable time with their peers away from their caring responsibilities.

If you could spare a few hours a month and would like to support the Young Carers Group by providing transport to a young carer, please get in touch with Lisa on the number below. 🚗

This September, we're delighted to be welcoming a couple of new young carers to our sessions – but we urgently need volunteer drivers and chaperones to help them get there.

Our next sessions begin 1st September, and without transport support, some young carers may miss out on the chance to relax, have fun, make friends and enjoy some well-deserved time away from their caring responsibilities.

We're particularly looking for volunteers in or near:

📍 South Kilworth
📍 Broughton Astley
📍 Kibworth
📍 Market Harborough

Ideally, our volunteer drivers and chaperones will live close to one another, making it easier to travel together to the sessions.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Market Harborough Youth Netball for their kind donation of £193, raised through their pre-loved clothing sale and tuck shop takings.

It's great to team up with another organisation that shares our commitment to sustainability, while supporting young people too.

It means so much to us and will go directly towards supporting the local young people we work with.
