This we're celebrating the rich histories and cultures of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities.

Through our Travelling Forward project, we're proud to work alongside Gypsy, Roma and Traveller young people and families every day, and this month we take a moment to honour the stories, traditions and resilience that make these communities so strong.

This week is , and we want to say a huge thank you to all of our amazing volunteers!

HCYC's fantastic board of trustees give their time sharing their knowledge and experience, keeping our charity running and we are so grateful for everything they do.

We also have the wonderful Eileen, who volunteers at the Young Carers Group, which is also supported by the brilliant VASL volunteer drivers who make sure our young people can get there.

We honestly couldn't do it without you! 💙

We’re looking to connect with local businesses across Harborough District.

HCYC supports vulnerable and isolated children and young people across Harborough District through play and youth work sessions, clubs, and projects using our mobile "Chill Out Bus" and local venues, and we’re always looking for local partners who want to be involved.

We know a lot of businesses want to give something back locally, but aren’t always sure where to start. Partnering with us is a brilliant way to do that, whether it’s helping with core running costs or directly supporting a project.

If giving back locally is something your business is thinking about, we'd love to hear from you! Please get in touch with us on [email protected] if you'd like more info.

In our Travelling Forward sessions we’ve been talking about the environment and simple ways we can be kind to each other and to the world around us. These are some of the creations the children came up with, and we think they’ve done a lovely job.

We are pleased to be awarded a place on the Social Impact Framework delivered by the NHS Collaborative Procurement Hub.

This framework provides a compliant route for all NHS organisations, part or fully government funded organisations and blue-light services to access social impact and community led services. We look forward to supporting improvements in outcomes and efficiency across the system.

Really important work from UK Youth highlighting what so many of us see every day. Youth work makes a real difference, but it needs proper, long-term support to keep reaching the young people who need it most.

Our Young Carers Group is supported by VASL volunteer drivers who generously give their time to help young people attend. Without this support, many would be unable to access the group. Thanks to these volunteers, young carers can take a break from their responsibilities, spend time with their peers, and receive vital support from our youth workers.

VASL are currently looking for additional volunteer drivers to support the group. If you, or someone you know, could spare a few hours every other week, we’d love to hear from you. Please share this opportunity and contact Lisa on [email protected] to find out more.
