Happy Summer Solstice.

SUMMER SOLSTICE BLESSING

IT'S THE MIDSUMMER'S EVENING, THE SHORTEST OF NIGHT, WHERE OUR PLANET IS BLESSED WITH THE GREATEST OF LIGHT.
THE SUN AT ITS POWER, SHARING ITS WEALTH, WITH THE EARTH GLOWING IN ABUNDANCE AND HEALTH.
THE TREES LEAVES ARE GREEN, THE BIRDS ARE IN SONG.
THE DAYS ARE AS WARM AS THEY ARE LONG.
WE HONOR THE ANIMALS, THE PLANTS AND LIVING THINGS, THE SUN AND THE WATER AND FOR THE LIFE THAT IT BRINGS.
MAY YOU FIND WELL-BEING AND MAY YOU FIND PEACE, IN DAYS AFTER SOLSTICE, AS THE LIGHT DOES DECREASE.
MAY THE BLESSINGS OF THE SOLSTICE BE YOURS WE PRAY, AND THE LIGHT WARM YOUR HEART AND SOUL EVERY DAY.

🏒Help shape how the BCP area grows🏑

We are creating a new Local Plan, setting out where homes, jobs, and infrastructure will be developed between 2028 and 2043.

Today we’re launching the first of three Local Plan consultations - giving you the chance to help shape the plan from the very start.

Launching today: Phase 1
πŸ—¨οΈScoping consultation – share your views on the big issues, suggest ideas and tell us how we can best involve you and others at future stages.
πŸ—ΊοΈCall for sites – landowners, developers, and the public to suggest potential development sites for future use.

Why local history is so important.

Sue Smith recently shared these photos of when her family had one of the market gardens in Muscliffe Lane.

The cottages and land were 'Homes for Heroes' - for people to grow & sell produce from their market gardens.

We still have Berryhill Farm maintaining this tradition. Give them your support πŸ₯¬πŸ₯•πŸͺ΄πŸ₯”πŸšœ

Throop Village, Holdenhurst Village & Muscliffe were traditionally farming & agricultural villages. Let's all continue fighting to maintain this green lung of countryside.

Across BCP the council is making/intends to make school 'lollipop' men & women redundant.

We all know the traffic chaos around schools nowadays, plus they are a familiar, friendly face for young children & families.

Tom Hayes MP is fighting to keep them. Please have your say ⬇️

‼️ Waste Recycling Plant at Parley ‼️

An application has been made to make the proposed 'eco waste' plant at Chapel Gate even larger!!!

At the time of the initial application there were serious concerns over toxic air pollution, health risks, infrastructure & traffic, and its location on protected Green Belt land.

A planning application has been made to BCP Council. Please keep a look out and have your opinions recorded.

If approved they intend to commence construction of the incinerator in 2029.

ONE TO WATCH πŸ‘€

BCP Council is starting work on the revised Local Plan.

This important to Throop & Holdenhurst villages, as there will be a new 'call for sites' where landowners can offer up their land for development (including green belt or conservation area sites).

BCP Council has scrapped its 2025 plan - claiming it is 'now following a new national planning system' ... and we all know that means "Build, baby, build"‼️

Green belt now has much weaker planning regulations, which potentially puts our area at risk.

The council is launching the 'consultation' period next month.

Please keep a watchful eye on any council communications - this is definitely ONE TO WATCH πŸ‘€
