The Creative Living Centre We are a mental health charity based in Prestwich. (Next to the Metrolink). In this way the individual becomes actively involved in improving thier well-being.

Our unique service has a very clear person centred holistic philosophy on which everything is based. The range of activities available to members enables a person to find their own starting point to select the most appropriate support that meets their needs. We have created a flexible and accessible service, which allows people to use it as and when they need to. Initially each person is offered an appointment where they are introduced to the centre and our approach. They are given time to discover and express what their needs are and identify their starting point. Each individual finds their own paths through the many opportunities available to them.

World Mental Health Day today was a day for filling our cup with the things that we enjoy, Art in its many forms and catching up with some good friends!

We visited Art in Whitefield at the Whitefield Live Well Centre to see Claire Lyons Art, fellow member of Bury Creatives Pruesart and our wonderful volunteer Rachael making Zines. We also met some new artists for us, Over The Moon Crafting with Jesmonite, Early Bird Project and Craftspiration Jewellery who we are looking forward to collaborating with!

We took a quick pit stop to visit fellow Bury Creative Andy Rowland and his illustrations in Radcliffe before heading to East Lancashire Railway to catch up with Julie Holden and another of our wonderful volunteers exhibiting pottery, Stef. We also met a wonderful new artist in Victoria at VJV Creative, and finally Sarah at Purple cloud needle felting!

This World Mental Health Day, we encourage everyone to start conversations, and be in and create environments where people feel safe to be themselves and ask for support when they need it.

Everyone deserves to feel heard, valued and supported, every day. 💜

📣 New webinar: How to recognise and support mental health at work

You can have the EAP, the awareness week and the wellbeing policy all in place - and still worry it's not reaching the person on your team struggling this week.

Following World Mental Health Day, we're keeping the conversation going, and making it practical. Georgia, Trainee Health Psychologist and Service Delivery Lead here at the The Creative Living Centre, will get practical about the things a policy, EAP and awareness week can't cover:

✅ How to spot the early signs someone's struggling
✅ What to actually say - and the phrases that can make it worse
✅ Using behaviour-change principles to encourage help-seeking earlier
✅ Moving past tick-box wellbeing to real culture change

📅 Tuesday 13th October
⏰ 10am
💻 Free, online, with live Q&A

Perfect for HR and People leaders - and the managers you'd love to have better equipped.
