Our Friendship Circle family was impacted in so many ways when Heaton Park Shul was brutally attacked on Yom Kippur last year.

The whole community are invited to a memorial service at the end of this month. We would encourage everyone to attend to honor the memory of those who were lost and pay tribute to the survivors.

Tonignt and tomorrow is the day of Tisha Beav.
The saddest day of the Jewish Calendar. We mourn the destruction of Jerusalem and many other tragedies in our history.
At Art club this week our members created these beautiful paintings of the kotel to mark this time.

This October, I’ll be swapping my comfort zone for the dance floor as I take part in Manchester Maccabi’s Strictly Come Dancing! 💃

I’m beyond excited (and slightly terrified!), but I couldn’t say no to the chance to raise money for a charity that means so much to me.

The Friendship Circle has been part of my family’s life for many years. My brother has been a proud member, and I’ve seen first hand the love, friendships, support and opportunities they’ve given him. They’ve created a place where he, and so many others with additional needs, feel valued, included and truly part of a community.

I’ve also had the pleasure of bringing my glitter bar to some of their events, and every time I leave feeling inspired. The smiles, the kindness of the staff and volunteers, and the incredible atmosphere remind me just how special this charity is. Friendship Circle isn’t just a charity – it’s a family.

Over the next few months I’ll be learning to dance (and probably stepping on a few toes along the way! 😅), so if you’re able to sponsor me, I’d be so grateful. Every donation, big or small, will help Friendship Circle continue making such a positive difference to so many lives.

We’ve had a busy few months as we finish up this year’s disability education programme!
The Friendship Circle has gone into 8 schools this school year to teach children the importance of inclusion, acceptance and friendship which in turn helps us to create a stronger and kinder community.
