🎉 SUMMER FAIR – FUN FOR ALL THE FAMILY! 🎉

Come along to the Tovil Scout Group Summer Fair for an afternoon packed with fun, games and treats! 🌞🎪

📅 Saturday 5th September
⏰ Midday – 4pm
📍 Tovil Scout Group HQ, Stramill Hill, Tovil

There’ll be something for everyone, including:
🎯 Games & competitions
🎟️ Tombola & raffle
🍰 Cakes & refreshments
🎨 Craft stalls & more

🚨 Fire Ban Notice 🚨

With support from the two Maidstone Districts, following Government advice and the emergency alert, Hamlet Wood Scout Campsite is implementing a complete fire ban until further notice.

This means that no campfires, cooking fires, fire-lighting activities, or BBQs are permitted anywhere on the campsite.

Thank you for your support and understanding as we work together to keep everyone safe.

This afternoon, 50 Scouts & Explorers from Maidstone West headed down to Aqua Chimp for a fantastic time on the water! 🌊

They had to climb, swing and splash their way across the Jungle Ropes course, taking on every challenge with confidence, teamwork and plenty of determination. 💪

There were lots of laughs, plenty of screams, a few splashes, and, above all, an unforgettable afternoon of adventure!

A huge thank you to the Aqua Chimp team for a brilliant experience! 👏

🎉 Maidstone West's first-ever District Youth Forum was a fantastic success!

Held at Hamlet Wood, the event brought together Scouts and Explorers from across the District to share their ideas and help shape the future of Scouting in a fun and relaxed environment.

Alongside the forum sessions, everyone enjoyed a brilliant day of activities including archery, climbing, pizza making in the site's brand-new pizza ovens, a free BBQ lunch, and even the chance to drive a real car! 🚗🍕🏹

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and to the District Youth Team for organising such a memorable event. We can't wait to see more youth-led events in the future! ⚜️

On the weekend of 27th–28th June, Maidstone West hosted a Young Leader Training Weekend at Hamlet Wood.

The young people who attended and completed their modules were outstanding. They showed incredible enthusiasm for learning new skills, embraced every challenge, and were keen to build friendships with fellow Young Leaders from across the district.

A huge congratulations to everyone who took part, and thank you to all the volunteers and leaders who helped make the weekend such a success. We look forward to seeing these Young Leaders put their new skills into action!

Congratulations to Chloe, Young Leader, on receiving the Commendation Award!

Chloe has earned this recognition for consistently going above and beyond through her volunteering. She supports not only Oakwood and St. Michael’s Scout Groups, but also contributes her time and energy to Brownies as well.

🎉 Welcome to Maidstone West! 🎉

As of the 30th June 2026, 1st Staplehurst Scout Group has officially joined Maidstone West Scout District.

As many will know, Kent Scouts' Project Re-Draw is bringing together Weald and Tunbridge Wells Scout Districts. As part of this process, 1st Staplehurst's leadership team chose to join Maidstone West, reflecting the Group's long-standing connection with the area and its history as part of the former Maidstone Scout Districts.

The Group joins with Squirrel, Beaver, Cub and Scout Sections, and everyone at Maidstone West is delighted to welcome their young people, volunteers and supporters.

If you see members of 1st Staplehurst at District events, you'll recognise them by their green and white scarf, please take a moment to introduce yourself and say hello.

Here's to new friendships, exciting opportunities and a fantastic future together. Welcome to the Maidstone West Scout District family, 1st Staplehurst! 💚⚜️

We’re reopening recruitment for the UK Contingent’s International Service Team (IST) for the 26th World Scout Jamboree in Poland 2027 🇬🇧

As planning continues in Poland, additional IST positions have been identified and we’re looking for more UK volunteers to join the adventure.
