Save the dates: 15 - 25 October 2026. Wimbledon Bookfest is back.

‘WHERE CULTURE BRINGS US TOGETHER.’

Since 2006, Wimbledon Bookfest has been bringing people together through stories, ideas and live experiences, building something that reflects the London we love: curious, open and connected to the world.

Every October, more than 20,000 people join Bookfest for ten days of events with the world’s best authors, leaders and thinkers – everyone from well-loved celebrities and sporting heroes to politicians, prime minsters and Nobel Prize winners. The rest of the year, Bookfest takes things far beyond the page, from breaking Guinness World Records to bringing Dame Jacinda Ardern to speak to sixth formers.

With an Amber Heat Health Alert issued for London and the South East, we are sharing on behalf of Merton Council's Public Health team the latest updates on climate and temperatures - and advice on cool spaces to shelter from the heat.

Cool spaces are indoor spaces for Londoners to shelter from the sun, cool down, rest and take respite on hot days. They may help reduce health risks from hot weather.

Outdoor spaces with shade, shaded seating, drinking water and toilets are also signposted, but may still be very hot during hot weather.
