Whilst this warm weather is mostly welcomed after the unsettled spell, we are aware of the impact on health due to high temperatures.

An amber heat health alert is currently in effect until 5PM on 27/05/2026 across London, which can impact those aged 65 and over, those with health conditions, and younger age groups.

As Mental Health Awareness Week (11-17 May 2026) draws to a close, we want to reassure people that after Awareness comes Action.

Action is the theme of this year's campaign, and we want to reassure adults across Merton who are experiencing difficulties that support is available.

Our friends at Wimbledon Guild provide a range of counselling through Talking Therapies, aligned to Merton Council's Public Health, for those who live or work in Merton.

They offer individual long-term, low-cost counselling and psychotherapy, and weekly Group Psychotherapy. Support services range from £10 to £80 and are based on your annual income. Some free group courses are available.

To book an assessment, simply call 020 8296 0030 or email: [email protected]

Today we helped our friends at and to deliver trays of home-grown plants to local Merton residents signed up to the project, which is aimed at creating greener front gardens, verges and tree pits across the borough - to promote biodiversity. We also spoke about the added benefit of helping to reduce overheating in the summer months (green spaces retain & generate less heat than tarmac and paving), as well as the wonderful community spirit these types of initiatives help to create.

Remember to water 💦 those plants 🌱 🌸.
