πŸ’™ Meet Leyla.

Visiting her local clinic is a regular journey she makes with her son and grandchild. After being diagnosed with diabetes, Leyla relies on regular medication and routine appointments to manage her health.

Thanks to local care provided by HIPZ - Health Improvement Project Zanzibar , these appointments have recently moved closer to home, making it easier for Leyla to access the support she needs.

Through our partnership, we've helped stock Leyla's local clinic with essential medicines and supplies, ensuring she can continue to manage her condition and care for her family.

🌍 Together, we're improving access to healthcare for communities across Zanzibar.

What did we do in July?

With your support, we delivered medicines to support 3.9 million people across seven countries!

This looked like sourcing and sending medicines to support mental health services, non-communicable disease management, primary healthcare, and sexual and reproductive health programmes.

We also sent a shipment to Malawi supporting communities with medication to treat neglected tropical diseases. Every shipment represents a step forward in improving access to healthcare.πŸ’™

While headlines move on, families in the DRC continue to face unimaginable challenges.

βœ… Preventable diseases like malaria and respiratory infections are still claiming lives.
βœ… Access to healthcare remains limited in many rural communities.
βœ… Conflict continues to force people from their homes.
βœ… Ebola is spreading, with over 1,300 deaths reported.

Don’t let this crisis be forgotten.

πŸ“ Somalia is facing a humanitarian crisis that cannot be ignored.
🌍 3.4 million people are internally displaced.
🍽️ Food insecurity and extreme weather continue to threaten lives.
⚠️ Disease outbreaks and conflict are limiting access to healthcare and humanitarian aid.
πŸ’Š People living with chronic conditions are struggling to access treatment.
🀱 Somalia remains one of the most dangerous places in the world for women giving birth.
🧠 Mental health challenges driven by trauma, anxiety and stress are increasing.
πŸ₯ Health facilities face shortages of medicines, medical supplies and qualified healthcare workers.

We are continuing to send shipments of vital medication to Somalia to restock medical clinics, and support local communities with access to healthcare.
We must continue raising awareness and supporting efforts to strengthen healthcare and humanitarian response in Somalia.

Honduras is still facing a humanitarian crisis.

Beyond the headlines, millions of people continue to navigate the impacts of violence, food insecurity, climate-related disasters and displacement. An estimated 1.6 million people currently require humanitarian assistance. Communities face growing health and protection risks of:
- Dengue outbreaks
- Gender-based violence
- Forced displacement

Despite the challenges, our commitment at IHP remains unchanged. We will continue supporting stronger, more resilient healthcare systems and improving access to essential services for those who need them most.

We’re still here.

When was the last time you heard about Haiti?

Ongoing violence has reached the point where it affects every part of daily life, yet the crisis has dropped out of mainstream media cycles. More than 1.45 million people have been displaced, and access to basic services is severely restricted. Just 37% of health facilities in the capital, Port-au-Prince, are fully operational.

Health risks include:
- Cholera
- Acute malnutrition
- Gender-based violence

Operating in Haiti remains extremely challenging within this context, but we are still here, and will continue to support the strengthening of Haiti’s healthcare system.
