Can you afford this business model right now?

A common mistake is assuming that having enough money to start means you can sustain every model. Each path demands a different level of cash, time and patience before revenue arrives. We created the Start Point Scan to help you assess your actual position and choose a move that fits, before committing resources in the wrong direction.

You can afford to start something. That does not mean you can afford to start everything.

Here’s what nobody tells you: the right first move depends on your actual cash, time and patience before revenue arrives. We created the Start Point Scan to help you assess your position before committing to a business model that asks more than you can give.

At £5.99, it is a practical starting point for a more informed decision.

Only 16.4% of applications showed strong demand evidence.

That does not automatically mean demand was absent.

For many women, the evidence already existed in repeat customers, enquiries, referrals, waiting lists and community uptake, but it had not been documented in a way funders could assess.

If people are already asking, buying, returning or referring, capture it. Demand that cannot be seen is easy to underestimate.

67.3% of applicants showed clear capital deployment plans.

They could explain what the money would do, not just that they needed it.

That is a strong signal.

If you are seeking capital, be specific. What changes because the money arrives? More stock? Equipment? Staff? Certification? Working capital? A larger delivery capacity?

Clarity about use of funds makes the economic case much easier to assess.

41.7% of applicants were already running established businesses and seeking growth.

That matters.

A large part of the conversation around Black and Brown women in business still treats the challenge as getting women to start.

Many have already started. They are trading, building, delivering and trying to move into the next stage.

The question is whether the capital, customers, contracts and strategic routes around them are keeping pace.

72.7% of applicants brought professional qualifications, sector credentials or deep lived expertise.

That is not a small detail.

Many women are not entering business empty-handed. They are converting years of work, knowledge and lived understanding into something of their own.

The opportunity is to make that expertise commercially legible: who needs it, who pays for it, what form it takes, and how it becomes repeatable income.

244 businesses in The Fundhership Grant dataset were assessed as capital-ready.

Not “promising”. Not “nearly there”. Ready to deploy capital against a specific business outcome.

Around 64% were rapid-growth startups, 28% everyday businesses and 8% charities or social enterprises with earned-income models.

The pipeline is more varied than the usual picture of Black and Brown women-led enterprise suggests.

You're selling a service. But what about the system you built to deliver it? The community that trusts you? The brand recognition you've earned?

Most women-led businesses sit on assets they never count, intellectual property, proprietary processes, strategic relationships, even the data you've gathered over years. These aren't just nice-to-haves. They're valuation drivers.

BuyHerShip exists to help you see what you've already built, and put it to work.

59.3% of applicants showed strong or exceptional capability across multiple signals.

Solution clarity, strategic thinking, lived expertise and resource awareness were already present at scale.

That matters because it changes the question.

The issue is not simply how to make women “more capable”. It is how to make existing capability more visible, more legible and better connected to capital and opportunity.
