ISSUP - International Society of Substance Use Professionals

ISSUP - International Society of Substance Use Professionals We are an international network that unites, connects and shares knowledge across the substance use workforce. Thatโ€™s where we come in.
(1)

Our vision is a future where drug demand reduction is a global priority. Where there is universal access to ethical prevention, treatment and recovery support. A future where better lives are possible for millions of people. Recent decades have seen the beginnings of a revolution in responses to the challenges of substance use, all anchored by research evidence, quality standards and ethical best

practice. Weโ€™re an international network that unites, connects and shares that knowledge across the global substance use prevention, treatment and recovery support workforce. Our global mission is to make the work of our members as impactful, accessible and effective as possible. We do this by making it easier to discover and share evidence-based knowledge, best practice, training and networking opportunities. ISSUP exists for its members and to provide them with knowledge and opportunities. Membership is free and is offered at four levels to suit different career paths. We do not limit our provision to our members. However, by becoming a member, individuals can access our full range of tools and benefits. Criminal networks involved in synthetic drug trafficking often rely on forged passports, fake identities, and manipulated travel or shipping records to operate across borders. To address this, UNODC has launched a new Security Document Examination module under its Toolkit on Synthetic Drugs.

Developed with the UNODC Laboratory and Scientific Services, the module provides practical guidance for law enforcement, border control, and forensic experts to detect fraudulent documents, apply forensic techniques, and strengthen information sharing.
