NationalCricketLeague

NationalCricketLeague Successful first season of the National Cricket League NCL provided four different competitions. The League is thankful to all Clubs for their co-operation.

The newly established ‘National Cricket League (NCL)’ has made a big impact to grass root level in the first year by providing a colourful concept, with cricketing rules, in limited overs cricket, including power play over’s. All matches took place at various venues, and all Cricket Clubs had to wear individual coloured uniforms provided by the league to represent their respective Clubs. The compe

tition in the NCL was fantastic with outstanding players on show from all fourteen Cricket Clubs. This allowed the benchmark to be set at a high standard by the majority of the fixtures, and for us all to witness closely contested games. The Pro 40 Premier Division Sponsored by Blackhorse Estates, Pro 40 over Cup, Twenty20 Cup and a 10 Over Rashid Aziz Memorial Cup (Charity Event). The NCL also launched a well equipped website which provided the information of the latest news, fixtures, results, league tables, players statistics along with many more features. The very first season proved to be extremely successful with all clubs providing tough competitions, making it unpredictable on which Club will gain silverware. The National Cricket League (NCL) was pleased to see four different clubs having the pleasure of placing their Clubs names on the honours list as all four competitions on offer were won by four individual Cricket Clubs. The NCL success would not have been possible without the co-operation from all Club Captains, Secretaries, Players, Match Officials and supporters. On behalf of the NCL Management, it has been a great privilege and honour to work alongside the finest cricket clubs and players. The Management were happy to deliver an exciting structured sporting platform for us all to enjoy, and also cherish the many great moments that brought an end to a positive 2012 season.

🏏 A HISTORIC DAY FOR GIRL'S CRICKET! 🏏

Sunday 16th August 2026 will go down in the history books for both Leytonstone Cricket Club and NEO Cricket Club.

The occasion marked the very first Girls Softball Cricket match between our two clubs, both proud members of the NationalCricketLeague (NCL) — a brilliant milestone for grassroots girls' cricket in our community!

13 amazing girls took to the field for a fast-paced 16-overs pair cricket format, where every single player got the chance to bat AND bowl. Lots of smiles, lots of learning, and a real game-based experience for our future stars!

A huge thank you to Sajid Patel (NCL Co-Founder & Secretary) and Ayaz Karim (NCL Youth Development Officer) for officiating and making this special day possible — both fully invested in growing the game across both clubs.

Please watch the highlights and feedback from the Girls.

As part of South Asian Heritage Month, one of our NationalCricketLeague (NCL) clubs, GNG Cricket Club GRFC, was featured in the documentary Second Innings, produced by Cohesion Plus.

In the documentary, Raps Cheema known as Rapinder Singh Cheema shares his remarkable journey—from the early beginnings, through the highs and lows, to the challenges he overcame with resilience and determination. His story is truly inspirational and reflects the values that grassroots cricket can instil within individuals and communities.

Formerly known as Chak De Cricket Club, the club began its journey in the National Cricket League (NCL) in 2013 as a group of friends brought together by their shared love of cricket. As the years passed, their ambitions grew beyond simply playing the game. Through life-changing experiences, evolving perspectives, and an unwavering passion to create a lasting legacy, they embraced a wider vision.

Working closely with the Gurdwara in Gravesend, the club has built a platform that promotes community cohesion, inclusivity, and participation. Guided by shared values of service and togetherness, GNG Cricket Club welcomes people from all walks of life to enjoy the game, stay active, and be part of a thriving cricketing community. Today, they proudly compete in the Kent Cricket League on Saturdays while continuing their long-standing participation in the National Cricket League (NCL) on Sundays.

The vision of Nahed Patel and Sajid Patel, Co-Founders of the National Cricket League (NCL), when establishing the league in 2012, was to transform the grassroots cricket landscape by creating competitive opportunities for teams formed by families and groups of friends. The aim was to provide a platform where players could showcase their talent, challenge themselves in a structured environment, build lasting friendships, and strengthen community bonds through cricket.

Today, that vision continues to flourish. We have witnessed many clubs that either began their journey in the National Cricket League or joined us later grow into established and respected community cricket clubs. These emerging clubs are now providing greater opportunities for participation and helping to make cricket more accessible to wider and more diverse communities.

Every one of our teams and emerging cricket clubs has a unique story to tell, and GNG Cricket Club's journey is a shining example of what can be achieved through passion, perseverance, unity, and community spirit.

Congratulations to GNG Cricket Club on everything they have achieved so far. We wish them continued success in the years ahead and extend our very best wishes to all our National Cricket League clubs and teams as they continue writing their own inspiring cricketing stories.

Kindest Regards,
NCL Management Committee

We hope to see a fantastic turnout from the cricket community. Your support will help create a great atmosphere and add to what promises to be an enjoyable and competitive occasion.

We wish both teams the very best of luck and, of course, hope the weather is kind to us!

On December 2024 on Islam Channel, our NationalCricketLeague (NCL) Co-Founder Sajid Patel spoke very highly about the special talent in Ali Zeb.

Yesterday, Ali Zeb of Safeskills Cricket Club made his debut for Essex County Cricket Club, scored 34 runs not out in the Metro One Day Cup.

This truly demonstrates the continued and important work with our Partners like Essex Cricket in the Community by opening and opportunities for our talented cricketers in the community.
