Counterpoints Arts

Counterpoints Arts Engaging with refugee and migrant experiences through arts and cultural programmes. I mean they could be quite antagonists with each other.

“The notion of parallel lines, that is basically a counterpoint, operating together, without the necessity of being reconciled at any one moment. If you were to freeze a moment in time, lets say in a fugue, you could hear maybe a terrible dissonance but that doesn’t matter because what matters really is a flow and flow together and the interweaving of lines ..." from The Last Interview with Edward Said

Yesterday, Team Counterpoints took on the Hackney Half Marathon alongside more than 27,000 runners across East London!

It was a beautiful day filled with energy, solidarity and community. Seeing thousands of people running with charities and good causes on their shirts was genuinely moving, and we’re so grateful to have been part of it.

A huge thank you to our incredible runners: Laura Gibson, Ed Anderton Zarmeeneh Khan, Tim Finch, and Sheena Balkwill who ran for Counterpoints on her birthday. The 5 runners helped raise more than £3,600 in support of Counterpoints’ work with artists and communities affected by displacement.

And thank you to everyone who donated, shared, cheered and supported Team Counterpoints along the run.
