AGPS saw the day in October 2012, following a workshop held to discuss the situation of Palestinian refugees in Syria. AGPS material is purely fact-based and rooted in real data compiled by a team of professional journalists, on-the-spot reporters, news correspondents, veterans, and local activists. We are dedicated to bringing the news of the Palestinians of Syria and the human rights violations perpetrated against them to a wide audience without bias or a political agenda. As warfare drags on in war-torn Syria, AGPS staff members have taken it upon their shoulders to keep a moment-by-moment record of latest developments in Palestinian refugee camps in Syria. Speaking the truth, propagating the truth, and documenting the truth are, therefore, the key guiding lines for our mission. Two young men reported missing from Yarmouk Camp since Saturday

Local sources in Yarmouk Camp reported the disappearance of Muhammad Abdul Qader Hajir, born in 2009, and Shukri Nidal Ahmad, aged 15, after they left their family home on Al-Maghariba Street on the afternoon of Saturday, October 3, 2026.

According to the information available, the two went together to the Palestinian Arab Club before contact with them was lost. No confirmed information about their whereabouts has been reported so far.

Their families are appealing to anyone with reliable information that could help locate them to contact the relevant page or the competent authorities.

From Yarmouk Camp to the “Palestine Branch” — a testimony that carries the scars of detention years later.

Palestinian refugee Mohammed Ahmed Marai, from Yarmouk Camp, recounts to the Action Group for Palestinians of Syria his experience after being arrested on March 21, 2014, and later transferred through several detention sites to the Syrian security services’ notorious “Palestine Branch.”

Marai says he endured prolonged detention, torture, severe overcrowding, deprivation, and degrading treatment that left lasting physical and psychological effects even after his release.

His testimony also sheds light on the conditions faced by detainees and the long-term consequences survivors continue to endure.

The Action Group stresses the importance of documenting survivors’ testimonies, preserving them, and comparing them with other accounts in order to help uncover the fate of detainees and forcibly disappeared persons and support victims’ and families’ rights to truth, justice, and accountability.

UNRWA’s future depends not only on the renewal of its mandate, but on whether it has the resources to carry it out.

Planning to issue or renew a Palestinian passport in Syria? The Palestinian Embassy has announced the required documents and procedures for holders of Syrian travel documents.

The basic requirements include a valid Syrian travel document, personal ID, an updated family statement, and three recent photos with a blue background.

Questions over proposed measures to curb unplanned construction in Yarmouk Camp have prompted the General Authority for Palestinian Arab Refugees to follow up directly with the relevant authorities.

Palestinian writer and journalist Fayez Fouad Abu Eid has published his first short story collection, “The Exile of Pain,” with the Palestine House for Culture in Istanbul.

The collection includes 12 short stories addressing themes of refuge, forced displacement, and the experiences of Palestinians in exile.

Abu Eid hails from the village of Al-Ja’una in Palestine and was born in the Yarmouk refugee camp in Damascus.
