PRS Members' Fund

PRS Members' Fund The PRS Members’ Fund provides financial support and advice to PRS members, ex-members and their families in times of need.

If you, or someone you know can benefit from our support, get in touch now to see if you’re eligible. The PRS Members' Fund was formed in 1934 to support songwriters and composers during the Great Depression. Over 80 years later we continue to be there for PRS for Music members and their dependants in times of crisis, thanks to the generosity of our supporters. We all know the music business can b

e unpredictable and demanding, and even after periods of success it can be precarious with no guarantee of earnings. This means that when crisis hits such as illness, accident or emotional breakdown, there may be no safety net. We provide financial help to PRS for Music members, ex-members, and their immediate families in times of financial difficulty or when they are unable to work because of illness, accident or disability.

☀️ Not even today’s heatwave could stop our amazing Comms team from heading out in person!

We had a fantastic time visiting the team at Bucks Music Group today. Our Senior Marketing & Communications Executive, Ilaria (pictured!), and Mo gave a presentation highlighting the vital financial, housing, and mental health support we provide to PRS for Music creators.

A huge thank you to Simon and his brilliant team for welcoming us so warmly. We are incredibly grateful for your support in helping us spread the word so that no songwriter or composer faces a crisis alone. 🎶❤️

🎵 Behind every unforgettable track is a songwriter or composer who poured their heart into the notes. ✍️✨

Yesterday was . As the UK and the world came alive with free live performances on every corner, we want to shine a light on the creators who rarely stand under the stage spotlights.

At the PRS Members’ Fund, we know that songwriting and composing form the absolute beating heart of the music industry. You don't have to be the performer on stage to be the voice of a generation. But behind-the-scenes creation can bring unique, quiet challenges.

For over 90 years, we have been proud to support PRS for Music creators through thick and thin—providing a vital lifeline, hardship support, and mental health resources to the people who give the world its soundtrack. 🎼❤️

🚀 To the next generation of UK creators:
Never underestimate the power of your pen, your software, or your instrument. Your melodies will shape the future, heal hearts, and define eras. Keep writing, keep creating, and remember—your voice matters, and we are always here to support your journey.

📢 Celebrating British Black Music Month! 🎶

As we continue celebrating British Black Music Month (BBMM), we are highlighting the vital systems of support that sustain our music community behind the scenes.

The incredible resilience of Black British artists and creators relies heavily on industry solidarity. 🖤

Kwaku, the founder of BritishBlackMusic.com and the Black Music Congress (BMC), shared this powerful commendation of the PRS Members' Fund and our unwavering help to supporting PRS for Music creators when it matters most:

"I commend the PRS Members' Fund for its proactive support and swift responses to the challenges faced by its members. Whether helping them through the Covid-19 pandemic, mental health struggles, stress, or emergency situations such as being stranded in Jamaica during Hurricane Melissa, the Fund continues to provide vital assistance."

The PRS Members' Fund remains an essential safety net—offering practical, emotional, and financial aid to songwriters, composers, and performers when they need it most. True sustainability in the music ecosystem requires a community that cares for its own.
