DISABILITY FESTIVAL IN THE PARK 2026 - REDBRIDGE!

This year's FREE Disability Festival in the Park in Redbridge is in full swing!! Calling all stallholders, organisations, partners, and businesses – don't forget to book your spot.

Cutting Universal Credit for new claimants is devastating enough. But the broken Work Capability Assessment process makes things even worse — because if someone is wrongly assessed, they could receive no support at all.

The Campaign for Disability Justice has launched a powerful cartoon series to show the real human impact behind this flawed, tick-box system. Behind every image is lived experience.

One person told them: "They didn't even bother asking me about the worst part of my conditions even though I'd detailed it — just ticked 'no problem'."

As an organisation that believes in disability justice and the right of every person to be truly seen and heard, we stand behind this campaign.

Our community is growing, and so is the need for support.

At the CFDN, we support disabled people and their families across East London and Essex, creating spaces where people feel included, supported and connected.

But none of this happens without volunteers.

We’re looking for people who can give a few hours a month to help us continue this work and support our members. You could support by:
• organising or attending events and activities
• helping members to take part and feel included
• fundraising and event management
• advocacy and community support
• group coordination and leadership

No experience is needed, just patience, kindness and a willingness to be part of something meaningful, because when someone feels welcomed, included and supported, it changes everything.
