We are in Underground England as part of their subculture series 🏴‍☠️

Lulu interviewed James on writing Blaze FM, and all things pirate radio for their OUTLAWS, OUTCASTS AND OUTSIDERS series on underground artists paving the way.

“It is a particularly interesting contention of the pirate-radio story. The technology may have changed, but many of the questions remain remarkably familiar. Who gets heard? Who decides which forms of youth culture are legitimate? What happens when music created outside the mainstream becomes viewed with suspicion by the institutions surrounding it? And what spaces do young people create for themselves when the established ones don’t represent them?
