BLAZE IS BACK.
Pirate radio IS The Big House. Stations were created to platform voices not heard on mainstream airwaves. At The Big House, our work does exactly that. Blaze captures the charm, defiance, talent, and ingenuity of our members.
Blaze FM blasts from a council flat in Hackney, the pirate radio station laying the foundations of grime. But in the midst of court orders, DTI signal cuts, and outright attacks against Black music, the family fight for their right to exist.
Hot off last year’s Edinburgh Fringe, Blaze is taking the fire from the booth to Bristol, Coventry, and Salford, so if you or anyone you know wants eighty minutes of drill, jungle, and grime, book tickets!

The first ever run of A DoL House has officially ended - thank-you to everyone who came, spread the word, and posted about it on social media. It’s been amazing to see the reaction from everyone: people who’d never heard of DoLs, to lawyers, judges, social workers and politicians who know them professionally, and young people who’ve been on them and know them best of all:

“The actors were amazing, spot on. It literally felt like I was back in a secure unit. It’s good that you guys are creating awareness - this needs to be shown everywhere.”

Although this show run is over, don’t think that we’re moving on. We’re in touch with incredible organisations, have our Google Alerts on to stay up-to-date with the latest news stories, research and policies, and are backing the campaigns of those pushing for reform. We’ll keep spreading the word and fighting for change.

The first show run has now ended, but our work hasn’t.
