River Thames Boat Project is a registered charity offering therapeutic and respite cruises, and environmental education days for Primary school children - School on the River and Eco Venturers. Beneficiaries and Volunteers come from all over Surrey and London. Our clients have included groups of :ex-servicemen, carers, children with cancer, multiple sclerosis, stroke recovery, care homes, dementia and disabled clients and many more. We offer a safe and caring environment with volunteer crew, who are happy to go that extra mile to make trips memorable and exclusive. We have two boats. Thames Venturer, is our specially converted Dutch barge with a large upper deck offering superb views of the Thames and passing scenery. She has a spacious saloon with a galley able to provide hot and cold meals and drinks, and sleeping accommodation for up to ten passengers and four crew. A lift provides access from the main deck to the saloon for those who cannot manage the stairs, and there are two toilets and showers accessible to wheelchair users. Thames Discoverer is our new boat and is perfect for day cruises, with large panoramic windows in the saloon and a spacious front deck. This boat is also accessible to those who have mobility issues. As a charity we welcome enquiries from local organisations that wish to help us with fundraising or sponsorship.

Bring your KS2 science and geography classes to life with School on the River.

We can accommodate up to 35 students per day at our Teddington base for on-shore and off-shore teaching about the River Thames, including the water cycle, native wildlife, water quality, plastic pollution and the river's use throughout history.

Overseen by our trained volunteers, this is an ideal way for students to learn about science and the natural world in a fun, engaging environment.

There are multiple ways to support the River Boat Thames Project.

Individuals and businesses can become Friends of the charity. These regular donations help us operate day-to-day, as well as helping us secure further grant funding in the future.

If you want to support us directly, while also experiencing the beautiful scenery and relaxing atmosphere of a river cruise, our boats are also available for private bookings.

These are available for up to 12 people, on a half- or full-day basis.

Head to our website (linked in the comments) to find out more.
