In April of 2025, Lighthouse Maintenance Engineer Jack was injured while working on Skerries Lighthouse. RNLI crews from Holyhead and Moelfre stations were soon on hand providing medical assistance and Jack was transported to the mainland via Moelfre’s all-weather lifeboat, ‘Kiwi’.

This week, the much-recovered Jack was able to thank the Moelfre RNLI crew in-person, and alongside fellow Engineer Ian and Head of Engineering Steve, presented the station with funds raised in thanks by Trinity House staff and our followers.

Trinity House is proud of our staff for their fundraising efforts and we thank Moelfre RNLI and Coxswain Vince for their hospitality which included a tour of Kiwi and the station.

Trinity House recently completed a major commercial contract for the deployment of 23 buoys at Hornsea 3 Offshore Wind Farm. This was a complex project tackled by several of our dedicated teams and the operation was delivered successfully and safely.

Hornsea 3 Offshore Wind Farm will generate enough renewable energy to power more than 3.3 million UK homes, making a significant contribution to both the local and national economy.

We are incredibly proud to have played a role in bringing this project to life and supporting the transition to a more sustainable future.

Our Field Operations West team recently joined the Research and Development unit (GRAD) on site at Bull Point Lighthouse to carry out light measurements on the tower’s LED light source.

These measurements act as a quality check, ensuring the modern light inside the heritage optic meets the navigational requirements that keep our mariners safe.

Thank you to Lighthouse Engineer David for this great shot of the team at work!
