Today, there are over 40 million slaves globally, a quarter of which are children . In Nepal, we estimate that there are almost 100,000 child slaves working in hazardous situations. These children are extremely vulnerable and often suffer from physical, emotional and sexual abuse. We rescue children, keep them safe and reunite them with their families. Child Rescue Nepal has rescued over 1000 chil

dren but our work is far from over. We want to end child slavery in Nepal and we won’t stop until every child is free.

This International Youth Day, we're holding two truths at once. 🧡

Over the past two months, 33 young people in our life skills and career readiness training improved their confidence, employability and self-awareness by an average of 23.5%. They built CVs, mapped out career plans and pitched business ideas – many for the first time believing in a future of their own choosing.

This week, our team rescued a 13-year-old girl who fled a violent home only to be exploited by someone who promised to help her. She is now safe, supported and beginning to heal.

Progress and protection go hand in hand. Neither would be possible without you. This International Youth Day, and every day, thank you for standing with young people in Nepal.

🚨 The fight is not over.

This week, our team rescued four young girls from a garment factory in Nepal — trapped in conditions no child should ever face. 💔

For over 25 years, Child Rescue Nepal has worked to free children from trafficking, forced labour, and abuse. Over 1,000 children rescued. Over 1,000 futures reclaimed. 🕊️

But it's 2026, and this is still happening. Right now, children are being exploited in factories, brothels, and homes across Nepal — hidden in plain sight.

We can't stop until every child is safe. 🙏

Would you work a year without being paid? 😔

This week our team rescued two boys, aged thirteen and fifteen, from a motorbike workshop – found after almost a year of labour, without a single rupee in pay. A fourteen-year-old girl was also rescued from a carpet factory in Kathmandu.

The boys are now safe while we work with the Labour Department and District Police to get them home to India. One hopes to return to school. The other wants to train properly as a motorcycle mechanic, so he can go on to earn a fair wage in a reputable workshop.

The girl is now at Marigold House, our safe home, where she has shelter, food, clothing, medical care and regular counselling to help her begin to heal.

None of this is possible without people like you standing behind us. Thank you for being there for children who need it most. ❤️

We recognise that poverty can be a big driver in children being forced into unsafe labour. When we reunite the children we've rescued with their families, we ALSO work with them to secure a sustainable income.

Below you will see how we supported this family to set up a small snack shop to ensure they had an income and could afford to send their children back to school to complete their education.

*** RESCUE NEWS**

Last week, we raided a massage centre in Kathmandu and rescued two teenage girls – aged 16 and 17. Both had ended up there through different roads: one came to the city looking for adventure, one for financial independence. Both could see what was really happening around them, and both knew it was only a matter of time before they faced pressure to go further.

This is the moment we rescued them. The moment of freedom – and the start of a different path.

They are now at Marigold House, our safe home for girls in Kathmandu, where they are receiving shelter, health care, counselling and practical support 🏠💛

Our team is in contact with both families and working with the girls on what comes next.

🌿💚 A HUGE thank you to Maggie! 💚🌿

For the past 10 years, Maggie has opened her beautiful garden to visitors in support of Child Rescue Nepal, raising hundreds of pounds to help vulnerable children and families in Nepal. 🌸🌼🌺

This year she hosted not one, but two Open Garden events, welcoming guests to enjoy her stunning garden while supporting a cause close to her heart. 🌿☀️

We are so incredibly grateful for amazing supporters like Maggie. Her dedication, generosity and community spirit have made a real difference over the years, and we simply couldn't do what we do without people like her. ❤️

We had Father and Son from Nepal, now we have 2 hours of Mother and Daughter singing in Jo's 24 hour concert...raising funds for the children Child Rescue Nepal rescue and look after.

So from 8 to 10pm. Hope you are all singing from home with Jo and Izzi.
