Upper Norwood Library Hub

Upper Norwood Library Hub Designing inclusive spaces for learning, wellbeing & the arts that support communities

The Upper Norwood Library Hub (UNLH) sits on the cusp of 5 London Boroughs (Croydon, Lambeth, Bromley, Southwark and Lewisham). Our professional library service is delivered by Lambeth Council, co-funded by Croydon Council. We work in close partnership with library services, and statutory and voluntary sector partners, connecting us to multiple communities and deeply rooting us into the heart of S

outh London. Our library hub operates a co-created community programme focusing on sharing & learning, health & wellbeing, venue & performance & outreach activities. We promote equality through information, education, wellbeing and creative programmes that widen participation and create open access. UNLH is managed by the Upper Norwood Library Trust (UNLT - an independent charity), formed in 2012 by local residents. ✨ ADHD Mums Connect is at the Upper Norwood Library Hub next Tuesday 2 June at 7:15pm - a monthly meet-up for mums with ADHD and AuDHD (formal diagnosis not necessary) to come together, connect, and unmask in a supportive, non-judgemental space.

This group offers a chance to talk openly about the realities of parenting while living with neurodivergence, share experiences, and support one another – whether that’s swapping resources, offering reassurance, or simply feeling a bit more seen. Many attendees are still on their diagnostic journey, and all are welcome wherever you are on that path.

Babes in arms are welcome, and there’s a relaxed, friendly atmosphere with space to just show up as you are. It’s also a great opportunity to meet others who truly understand the day-to-day challenges and strengths of neurodivergent parenting.

Looking back at our Creative Communities project, which brought together local residents, artists, and partners to explore what positive change looks like across the themes of equity, environment, and wellbeing.

Through workshops, storytelling, collage, photography, and conversation, over 100 local people shared their ideas and experiences - turning them into creative works that reflect their hopes for the future.

Led by artists and supported by community partners, the project shows what happens when people are given the space and tools to imagine change together.

Libraries can be more than spaces for learning - they can be places where communities create, express, and shape what comes next.
