Our ELQ inspector, Laura, recently visited New Bear Education in Guangzhou to see their high standards in action.
While on-site, Laura discussed a vital topic for every educator and parent: How do we prepare children for an uncertain future? Laura highlights the key skills we look for during our inspections that help children thrive:

We’re excited to highlight Auralytica — Smart Sensors. Safe Food. — a start-up using advanced sensor technology to help monitor food freshness and reduce waste.

While we enjoy the festive season, it’s the perfect time to think about how we can do better. We’re looking for the next generation of innovators to turn “waste” into “wonder”!
The 2026 BIEA STEM Competition is officially OPEN! 🚀 This is your chance to tackle food waste head-on and potentially fly to London for the International Final! 🇬🇧
Who can join?
👥 Teams of 3-5 students
🎂 Ages 6-18
What’s the mission?
Develop tech or designs to reduce food waste, from sustainable packaging to waste-to-resource energy. Show us how we can protect our water, land, and energy! 💧⚡️
