Caring for ourselves gives us the ability to properly help others when the need arises, but how can we act together as a unified community and society?

SIG HerStory House sets the example - they understand that long-term wellbeing is built on consistent access to support, community, and a safe environment where everyone is equal and heard.

As we learned from Ben on caring for ourselves, consistent small steps do more than inconsistent grand gestures.

Consistent availability and community can be the antidote to such an uncertain world.

In our recent staff spotlight, Group Clinical Lead, Moyo Adigun-Harris, reflected on the importance of compassionate, relationship-led support.

"Housing, relationships, financial stability, and social opportunity all play a part in a person's wellbeing. When people feel safe, respected, and supported across these areas, they're more likely to engage, and that's when we see outcomes improve".

Whenever we have an opportunity to lighten the load for somebody else, it's important to take it. We all have a role to play in maintaining the wellbeing of those around us.

If you're going through a rough patch or feel like you've hit rock bottom, getting back to normal can feel insurmountable.

It might take lots of steps and time, but the time will pass anyway, and you don't have to take every step at once - just doing the next easiest thing is progress!

Take it from Ben, a resident at SIG Penrose New Hope, who recovered from a long stay in hospital: "take one step at a time, and remember it's okay to ask for support...a routine can really ground help ground you as you move forward with your journey".

Awareness is the foundation for action.

Mental health awareness helps to inform ourselves and others so when the time comes to act, we can act effectively.

This mental health awareness week, we're looking at ways to take action to support mental wellbeing for ourselves, others, and our communities as a whole.

What an amazing day at the SIG London Marathon Cheer point! 🙌

We’re so proud of our runners: Nadia, Abdul, Iain and Dan, and so grateful to everyone who showed up to support them.

A huge thank you to all the staff, volunteers, and the wonderful family and friends who came along to cheer on our four incredible runners as they raised funds for SIG Pathways to Independence and SIG Penrose Roots to Recovery.

The energy, encouragement, and non‑stop cheering made such a difference and truly showed the power of coming together for a great cause. From banners and high‑fives to smiles and shouts of support, you helped carry our runners every step of the way.
💛
Together, you helped make a real impact.

It’s marathon day!

Join us in wishing the very best of luck to our incredible runners taking on the London Marathon today — our SIG Penrose runners, Dan and Abdul, and our SIG Pathways runners, Iain and Nadia. The SIG team will be out in full support around mile 19, flags and banners in hand and cheering as loudly as we can as our runners pass by!

A huge thank you to our runners and to everyone who has donated to help them reach their fundraising targets. Every pound raised will support vital services for hundreds of people each year in Kent and Luton who have experienced and are recovering from homelessness, mental ill health, and social isolation.

Good luck today — we’re so proud of you!

We’re thrilled to introduce Iain, who is taking on the London Marathon to support SIG Pathways!

His running journey began with a simple 1.5-mile challenge back in 2015, and now he’s gearing up for a huge milestone - completing his 6th World Marathon Major at the London Marathon and earning the coveted Six Star Finisher medal.

“London will be my sixth and final World Marathon Major, and I want to use this milestone to raise as much as possible for a good cause.”

Let’s cheer him on! You can support Iain’s effort by donating here: https://2026tcslondonmarathon.enthuse.com/pf/iain-griffith

We’re excited to introduce Nadia, one of our incredible SIG Pathways London Marathon runners!

Nadia is a devoted mum of two and a passionate runner who has already completed the Berlin and Chicago World Marathon Majors, as well as the Great North Run for charity. Running keeps her strong, balanced, and focused, and this year she’s taking on her dream challenge: the London Marathon, in support of SIG Pathways.

“As a mother, I’m deeply moved by the idea of creating safer, more stable futures.”

With her employer NVIDIA matching every pound raised, Nadia is determined to make a real and lasting difference.

If you’d like to support her journey, please donate here: https://2026tcslondonmarathon.enthuse.com/pf/nadia-siamer
