TRNC just made history.

Our national team defeated Padania 6–1 in the CONIFA Euro 2026 final and became European champions. For Turkish Cypriots, this is more than a football result. It is pride, visibility and identity on an international stage where our people are too often excluded.

The team scored 15 goals across three matches and finished the tournament with authority. This victory deserves to be celebrated across every Turkish Cypriot home, club, community page and youth group.

Turkish Cypriots in Enfield should not be expected to stay silent while political banners are placed in Southgate using language that delegitimises our homeland, our towns and our community.

TCE has already raised this issue with Enfield Council. We understand the council has accepted the banners are divisive and has asked for them to be removed. Yet they are still there.

So now we need answers.

Who placed them there? Who paid for them? Who approved the site? Who authorised this wording in an area with a large Turkish Cypriot community?

This is not about blocking free speech. It is about challenging divisive political messaging placed on our streets.
